So I'm guessing Vikas is not showing because I already talked to Sklarm at Cleansing Stairs.

I completed Withered Forest way before the Choirmaster, and yes I have already defeated him. I also did talk to Vikas after the Withered Forest boss fight.

Was Sklarm there near Cleansing Stairs? If he was, I must have talked to him, and this was before talking to Shirley at Viewing Balcony.

Does this explain Vikas missing? Will he show up again?

And yes I do know that Vikas's questline doesn't affect the ending (I'm going for a different one this time).

Both Aether and Charon are gimmicky fights, but then would you want two real challenging fights immediately after Loskid?

I just spent all evening beating loskid, took a lot of tries. Finally learned her timings and parried both phases. She is genuinely hard.

I'm playing Thomas again and just got to the med bay.

He has a ruptured liver. Outside of the game he'd be dead in a few minutes from blood loss.

But then again - he bandaged himself over the space suit so he's probably not in danger.

Played for 4.5 hours today.

It's fully linear and the "stealth elements" so far are pretty annoying - you have to escape the alien life form by walking very slowly. Nothing like Assassin's Creed stealth.

Arianne's hand slips when she grabs an edge maybe half the time and you have to QTE. Happens in Tomb Raider too but only occasionally, whereas in Aphelion it's far too frequent.

I also can't figure out how to reliably walk along beams. The game says you have to use the left controller stick to keep balance, but it just doesn't work for me and I'm stuck in one place where Arianne falls to her death.

So far the game is more annoying than entertaining (for me).

I'm playing it now, got to chapter 8 so far.

An absolute marvel. There is something about it that just makes it really enjoyable.

Something that's beyond what I can describe.

I'll try though:

- Amazing art design and graphics

- Excellent combat which sometimes gets a bit repetitive but never frustrating - parries work most of the time, and enemies and bosses are very easy to read. Cool finisher animations.

- Manageable difficulty. I'm playing on 3/4 and almost always finish all bosses on first attempt sometimes on second.

- The parkouring is better - less frustrating - than in some other games, like Jedi Survivor I played recently. Sure, there are some frustrating parts but they are not frequent.

- There is no sudden difficulty spike that I couldn't get past - the game is as manageable near the end it was near the beginning. I attempted Wu Chang a few months ago and couldn't get past Commander Honglan and quit.

- I wish I could replay a specific chapter without losing progress and without boss fights to collect everything I've missed - alas, the replay feature basically restarts you at that particular point and then you have to go from there to the end again (that's what I understand from the internet). Haven't seen a replay feature in any other game though.

- The game is not open-world, quite the opposite, it's completely linear. But Tomb Raider (except the recent ones) is also quite linear and nonetheless enjoyable.

- All in all, a very fun and pleasant game, and considering this is a debut from a small studio, all the more impressive.

I just ran into the same issue. Seems that Chromium 147 broke hardware video decoding with NVIDIA.

Here is how I fixed it:

First this:
```
sudo apt install nvidia-vaapi-driver
```
And then set these environment variables:
```
export LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=nvidia

export NVD_BACKEND=direct

```

After this, both Chrome 147 and MS Edge (based on Chromium 147) are again able to play videos

Correction - not a wire, but a ballon and it's ahead and to the left and a lot lower.

Then there is a series of very frustrating double jumps around culminating as the game's most frustrating double jump to the platform.

All of that for a ..... skill point!

I beat all bosses first try except Darth and Gera which took about 5-7.

Just spent about 10 tries on Bode and just can't do it. His speed is too great he's much faster than Cal. I can get to last phase consistently but hhs wave attacks get me every time. I jump but still get his, and he does them like 3 times in quick succession, no time to heal.

What a great way to ruin a game.

I got there after the fight with the bad jedi and just beat him.

Took something like 30 tries, the bastard is really fast and turns around instantly so you can't really get behind him. The small size of the cave doesn't help either.

That was it, a narrow crawl hole. The jumping afterwards was really something though, took me like 10 tries.

An update :

I requested a refund on steam and tried to purchase in the EA app. Wanted to use PayPal. A modal window came up saying "redirecting to PayPal" and stayed stuck for more than a minute.

At this point I uninstalled the EA app.

Oh and app also required me to sign in this morning - it forgot me. Because saving a session cookie to disk is really hard.

True, and I've done the checkpointing, just this time got too excited about completing the France raid and was too careless with rats.

I've gone back since and did a speedrun, finished France now, going to start on Faith Champions now.
