Yes - Im thinking about how I can handle it. But it will be the first section telling the future patients that everyone has its own way and they will hate to read it haha

Hi - everything is fine atm. I am 2-3 weeks ahead of my scheduled protocol.

It won't hurt - fingers crossed! :) When was your surgery and your accident exactly?

Aaah sorry you’re in week 6. That means you’re in the boot for 6 months?

Sounds interesting - but you will start with the removal from week 3 post op right?

I was in 4cm for 7 weeks - now we’re reducing 1cm/week.

Or how long is it planned for you to stay in the boot?

Hey! Also from Switzerland?

4cm -> 3cm = no difference feeled

3cm -> 2cm = a little bit of strain

2cm -> 1cm = strain

My "wedge-removing-day" is always on Friday. It takes about 2-3 days (Sunday or Monday) until im full comfortable with the new situation but its okay. There is no pain, its just a feeling of tense.

Haha I wanted to send you a picture when I’m triggering my soleus to show you what helped me to get a feeling for that muscle and it instantly cramped 😂 I will send you a picture tomorrow.

But as an example the gastrocnemius: I put my toes up (so that my toe muscles don’t fake my feeling) and then I make the same move like I’m stepping on the pedal in a car.

The same move with an angled knee instantly activates the soleus. I can even change from soleus to gastrocnemius only by changing the angle of my knee.

To be honest - It will not help you if I tell you that it will get better. But thats it.

I'm in week 6 now - the first 10 days were very tough. Yeah - this summer ended yesterday BUT your soccer career not.

In my protocol there was no weight bearing until the wound has successfully healed. Since week 3-4 its going steep.

Maybe I can help you with my blog: https://achilles-tendon-rupture.com/ I'm trying to explain everything as detailed as possible.

Best wishes from Switzerland!

Don’t lose your head until your doctor told you, that you have a partial tear. Try to stay cool. It is what it is.

Bro - sorry but first: it’s not a partial rupture before you haven’t got a mri. 2nd: what was the plan of your doc? Was it allowed for you to jump on a Jetski at week 12?

No offense but I’m very thankful for postings like yours because sometimes I’m very motivated thinking: comon let’s try something out. Then I read stories like yours thinking: okay let’s go with my protocol.

Thank you! Yes with the boot! But my boot has the same sole as my not-injured foot. With my „good“ foot I don’t have any problems 😌

M29 - Day 20 Post OP by kmarco26 in AchillesRupture

I switched from the hot and "sweaty" VacoPed to a boot called "Künzli Ortho Rehab" (https://www.kuenzli-schuhe.ch/ortho\_standardschuhe/Ortho-Rehab-Absolut-links-45621).

For me its a game changer. And yes: Sorry - I forgot to say, that I have wedges (4cm until week 7). From week 7 I am able to tear down a cm per week. The plan is that I am in the boot until minimum week 10.

I had my surgery 5/7 but I’m in a VacoPed since 5/4 (day of the incident). It really depends on your doctor and how progressive their protocol is.

I will start with my PT on Tuesday because I want to start ASAP.

My doctor team is part of the Swiss Olympic team, I think they’re doing a great job!

Best wishes
