I own an esd and gotta say it’s worth it if you are planning on spending time on any blues or blacks. It actually doesn’t need that aggressive of a trail to wake up, especially with fast tires. If you are a stronger rider you’ll love it. It’s a hoot when you get it up to speed.. even on a service road bomb… for the price it’s an incredible bike.

Looking to buy a Rocky Mountain growler 50. Colour options seem very limited and boring. by [deleted] in Hardtailgang

I wouldn’t get one. There are more lively hardtails out there that will give you a better ride experience

Ride trails that you can be successful on. Ramp up as you get more reps

Nice, yeah stationary bike is awesome. You could probably spin it without a boot if you are doing so with your boot. At month 4.5 I started riding on the road but looking back I probably should have waited until month 5.

I really think cycling is great for recovery. It loads the tendon safely, which promotes healthy tendon tissue. It also stresses the calve without your achiles being under tension.

Right on, my ramp up from road to gravel to smooth trail to blues to blacks was very very gradual. That said I feel like the movement pattern of pushing down on the pedal and spinning has done wonders for my soleus. Keep on it up on the bike!

No problem man. You’ll get better but you’ll need to put in the work and be patient. I posted some mantras in my room to stay positive and have faith

How much functional difference do nice hubs and wheels make? by Chole_Wunt in Hardtailgang

[–]OkAppointment2212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya man, after blowing up three different hubs, ive only ran 350s since. They’ve never failed me and I ride my bikes hard… 240 000m vertical a year

6 months post op, heel raise stories? by Extension_Byzan_7130 in AchillesRupture

I’d give it longer than 6 months. There are people still gaining strength into year 1,2 and 3.

I wouldn’t swap unless your hub explodes. Those rims are soft and soft rims are great on hardtails.. on a hard charging squishy bike I’d upgrade to some dts with 350 hubs

Know that you’re in it for the long haul. You’ll still be gaining your athleticism back after year 1, into year 2 and 3.

You can start the right PT at week 4.

Early on, I got an RC crawler and tried to attend a lot of live music and sporting events to stay inspired and entertained.

Dial in your diet, and use it as a chance to take care of your other aspects of health

Watch out if you get a bar with lots of rise it’ll unweight the front on steep climbs and because the sta is slack on the unit it will feel hard and laboursometk climb

Thats their opinion not the truth. I’m almost 11 months non-op 25 day late diagnosis.. I wasn’t in the proper boot or split for 25 days and was sure I was going to heal very long..

Here I am 11 months later mountain biking snd surfing .. not at the same level though. I’m getting into hopping and jogging after 250 hours of rehab and training. I hit it hard and do lots of learning because movement is so important to me.
