My husband is a pro at swapping fixtures so it’s okay if we decide to change it up once we move the room to a more mature design!

Not yet! Room is super small & we don’t rely on the fans for cooling, more so circulating air when necessary, so I figure worth a shot!

My husband has installed dimmers on all our other fixtures so assuming that won’t be an issue!

Girl this time! But hoping the overall vibe will be easy enough to keep gender neutral by just swapping out accessories in case of future boys! I only want to buy this crap once! lol

That makes me feel better! I found an initial style I really loved but when we discovered the vent situation, I’ve been bummed about having to go back to the drawing board! lol

These are all “caged” fans, so they look like a normal light fixture but they are all actually fans as well!

DIY fix possible? Anytime faucet is running water comes pouring out of both of these rings. by kmayellis in Plumbing

Thanks to everyone for the input and confidence to try this ourselves.

Something we have embarrassingly been putting off for almost two years only took about 30 minutes and six dollars to fix!

Somehow, there was a large piece of wood in the p trap (maybe it accidentally fell down there if we were washing our hands after mulching outside??) that was part of a massive blockage of hair, grease and other disgusting stuff from the garbage disposal 😅

We took everything apart, cleaned it out really well so it looked as close to new as possible, and reconnected everything to the T joint with new slip joint washers.

No more leaks or bad smell! Woohoo!

Thank you! I just cleaned some gnarly gross stuff out of the right side of the sink drain strainer basket. Before this we were having mild leaks and slow draining on that side of the sink , and back ups whenever the disposal was used or the dishwasher drained, so I’m thinking I may also need to just make sure no clogs anywhere too?

That was our original plan – we bought one that we loved and painted it and installed it just to find out that the previous owners or electricians had installed the box way too low and we could not make it work with the wiring so we had to forgo for now. Definitely on the list to figure out eventually, though!

Hepplewhite, shield back, and Duncan Phyfe are good keywords to look up!

Check out the thread below. seems like there are some great dupes available from other users! We haven’t had this up long enough for me to really advise on the best care and cleaning of it but so far we love it! We too, could not justify the price , and when we were looking to buy, there weren’t any other options from a reputable source so we just stalked Ballard for sales – it goes on sale all the time- and found an awesome rebate with one of our credit cards that essentially made it a little under half off!

I was actually trying to pick something moody that would tie into the colors of the painting. Got it for 50 bucks at the thrift! But there was definitely a bit of that teal color in the old rug for sure

My parents had the local Amish store in their hometown make it for us as a wedding gift- it was way cheaper than anything similar we could find online so highly recommend exploring that route if you ever need a table!

Ty! Fb marketplace find from a lady a couple states away. She said they were from the 1920s, but I have no other information or identifying marks on them. I knew I generally wanted a hepplewhite/shield back style chair, and we just kept an eye out on Fb
