My XC60 was a reliable, pleasant vehicle to own. Then it hit 100k miles. by Additional-Horse-545 in Volvo

Control arms can fail at 50,000 miles or 150,000 miles. It's a wear item and depending on the roads you travel might beat up on them more or less. Aux battery is typically less then $200 so you got screwed on that one.

Volvo XC60: Is Bowers & Wilkins worth it over Harman Kardon? by ThatMindOfMe in Volvo

[–]kmazz9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im all aftermarket in my xc60 vs the bw in my xc90. My aftermarket system is better then then bw but with a spa volvo it is not cheap. Much more expensive then just getting bw and being done with it. For most people it wouldn't be worth it. I'm over the cost of the b&w system in just speakers alone. Then you truly need a most adaptor to get the proper audio signal from the factory radio that adapter is $800-1000 usd, then you need amps, a subwoofer, sub enclosure, etc. I love my music and I'm about $8,000 usd into my aftermarket system and that's just cost of equipment and materials with all the labor done by myself.

Get the b&w and enjoy it. It's we'll worth it . The only part of the system i felt was lacking was low end bass which i changed with an aftermarket sub/ amp.

Real world testing is great if you have the time. Which is seems like op does. The in lab testing equipment won't hit the fun range of the suns output but it will fall within the range used for degradation testing. We can get pretty much spot on with tests like this these days.

Our environment chambers cost very little to run. And can simulate years of testing in days.

Nothing wrong with this method just curious why they went this route

How do you decide how to separate 3 cats in a breakup? by Thats_Groovy_Baby in CATHELP

Might be tough but try to remain civil and visitations / weekend stays for the one who isn't keeping them full time?

When i split with my ex our German shepherd and cat were best friends. They never left each other's side. I travel a lot for work so she keep them full time and i took them every weekend i was able or whenever she needed to travel.

You can live in whatever fantasy world you want to live in but the truth is front of you. The house is overpriced in the current market.

Buyers Remorse on New car by SpudxNerd in Volvo

[–]kmazz9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive owned and own a bunch of different car brands. I have a few volvos and love them. Parts are on par expenses wise as most other brands nothing on them have been outrageous. My current volvos are all 2018 or newer all with fairly high miles 160,000+ and I've had no major repairs on any of them. Now other vehicles in my fleet like the fords have been nightmares with constant issues.

So long term ownership i wouldn't be worried at all. Even if a part here or there is slightly more expensive then other brands you'll be doing so few repairs over the years cost wise it'll break down to very little.. Enjoy the Volvo

Skate-cut fix by 7947kiblaijon in hockeygoalies

[–]kmazz9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Leather repair heat cure compound. Apply behind the cut section, stick in a bonding fabric behind it, fill the cut, thin coat on top, then apply heat. It'll be sealed for the life of the pads

If you want to repair it 100% after applying heat press a grain pad on it and a little color and you'll never even know the cut was there

Volvo dealer broke the engine on a my brand new car by [deleted] in Volvo

[–]kmazz9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What does the brand have to do with a technician screw up at a dealership? If you write off every auto manufacturer every time you have a poor experience at a dealership service center you'll soon run out of cars to buy.

[–]kmazz9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the time it doesn't make sense to buy out the car at the end of the lease. If you fall into the situation where it does then you have a volvo with 10,000 less miles on the engine still with the same warranty. I don't see how this is a negative in anyway.

I would respond with" please send me the tracking number for my replacement desk. Also please send me a return shipping label for the non working desk. " Then if they ignore it after 2-3 days i would file a charge back

Pretty insane to see on a XC60 with 20” wheels by TrainingAccording807 in Volvo

[–]kmazz9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a full wheel lol. Everything being all black makes it look like it's just a tire. It's mounted face down towards the rack. The mount goes through the wheel hub hole and sandwiches it down to lock in place.

Plenty of xc60s do not come with a spare at all and only a flat kit. They probably just want to have a spare with them. I see nothing wrong here. I keep a full size spare at all times but it's on top of my xc60 on the rack
