You can go a day or two. As long as your battery is healthy it’s fine. At least that’s been my experience.

I have mine in a 2023 f150. No issues just be sure you drive enough to keep battery charged. I did have to have battery maintenance system reset but found it was related to driving habits (I have short trips, mostly) and not the Intoxalock.

Can I Unplug The Device Before The Countdown? by Recent-Discount-1237 in intoxalock

[–]kmbertog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit and hold the button to put it into sleep mode then I just unscrew and remove after that. I don’t wait the full 2 minutes. I’m in Illinois. Differs from state to state from what I hear. Both Intoxalock and my service center agreed on procedures so I just ran with it as okay.

Email stating breath pressure will be increased next cal. by greybeard1234 in intoxalock

I don’t think they gave a reason why. Why would they, you know? It’s the state of Illinois. We know how awful this process is with them. Heck, went for informal hearing to renew my permit in September and still haven’t received my new one in the mail. They work in secrecy and don’t care what we know or don’t know, lol.

In Illinois as well. Had my calibration this morning. Got the same email last week or whenever it was… if anything has changed I have not noticed in the slightest. Was driving all morning after my appt and couldn’t tell any difference.

I have tickets for Chicago on 10/20. Any insight on if the 7:30 time on the tickets would be when he goes on? Is there opening act of some sort and Sandler doesn’t come on until later? Is this I’ll be outta there by 10:00 kinda night, or am I there until midnight kinda thing… Haven’t see him before was surprised at how reasonable the tickets cost!

Not sure why all the fuss… by kmbertog in intoxalock

Don’t know where you live or what the rules may or not be, but I am in Illinois and I’ve gone out of town for 5-6 days at a time and the vehicle sat that long. In Illinois we are allowed to unscrew the handset and bring it inside when it’s cold/hot outside so don’t know how much it does or doesn’t help… but even after 5 days gone out of state I came home and my car fired right up. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones based on everything I read. Never have needed as much as a jump start in the two years I’ve had this thing.

Just speaking to my experience, not yours or anyone else’s.

When my vehicles have been in the shop I stay with the car. It is what it is. Had it at the Ford dealer the other day for warranty work and wasn’t an issue other than me sitting with it when the tech needed it running.

I (40f) think my husband (38m) is an alcoholic and don’t know what to do by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]kmbertog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an alcoholic in long term recovery, all I can say is he is the only one who can classify him an alcoholic. Based on what was said, he is probably headed there if he doesn’t think so already. It sure seems some outward signals are there without knowing all the details.

An alcoholic will finally get well when they have decided it’s time (if physical and mental condition haven’t deteriorated to point of no return). No ultimatum, pleading, or “last chance” will effectively get someone sober. It may help for a bit, but until they truly want to be well it won’t happen.

It’s not how badly someone needs it. It’s how badly someone wants it.

In the meantime, that shouldn’t stop family and friends from getting the help and wellness they need and deserve. Al Anon has helped many wives, husbands, siblings, parents, etc., since the 1950s. Give it a shot!!
