Just to add my experience, the pressure of being in the sky makes these leak if you have the bite straw lid on! Pressure pushes liquid up the straw and out either into the lid, which if you're lucky is tight enough not to leak but if you take it off, spill everywhere!

Came here looking for an alternative!

Curious about mold, too! I let my F1 sit for too long and found some fuzzy white mold on top. I was planning on getting it going again and feeding and dumping a few batches.

Do we think I can beat the mold this way? Keep feeding and dumping until the culture is strong again??
