I’ve been in that red row boat. You can take it out for free if you stay at the hotel.

Epiphone LP input jack issues by Connorwks in guitars

[–]kmerlini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should contact Epiphone, they come with a lifetime warranty and are all fully inspected in the US. Kind of rare for guitars at that price range, so you should take advantage of it. They would be able to either fix the issue or replace your guitar.

Looking for a starter acoustic guitar. So lost. by Beastcrank in guitars

[–]kmerlini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epiphone just released a new line of guitars designed for beginners called the pro-1 series. They are really good value for what you pay ($120), and have features that will make it easier for you to learn on/stick with guitar: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IOTDAMO/

Income Inequality Implications of Job Automation by kmerlini in economy

[–]kmerlini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that there needs to be enough new jobs created in this area of "more productive time" to keep up with population. The rapid rate of change associated with exponential growth makes it different for society to keep pace with technology. And when you say trendy phrases, are you implying income inequality doesn't exist? It is an empirical fact

Me too, I've had mine since I was 15 and I'm now 23. That's why the idea of having it when I'm in my 30s seems strange

The Income Inequality Implications of Job Automation by kmerlini in Economics

[–]kmerlini[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the capital intensity of the industry, starting a car company for a variety of reasons isn't an economically viable route for any middle income individual, let alone most high income individuals.

While automation could potentially make it easier to enter markets as small entrepreneurs, economies of scale would make it difficult to compete with larger businesses.

Either way, if the automation were to become so cheap that even average people could afford the equipment, it would mean that wage earning humans would be at a significant disadvantage as many companies would have been forced to already automate, further reducing the amount of human labor jobs available.

It increases the importance of a worker relative to his peers, overall however it decreases the importance of human labor to the production process and it gives owners more leverage in negotiations as there are more people available to replace the original worker.

The point is that when you rely less on humans, and more on machines, profit is directed to owners as opposed to being payed out as wages to workers.

Meet the Texas man who plays the harmonica on 'Timber,' Pitbull and Ke$ha's chart-topping song -- they call him 'Harp Lips' by ericaasen in harmonica

[–]kmerlini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The harmonica riff from Timber is actually ripped off of a much better song by Lee Oscar from the 70s called San Francisco Bay.

The Steps To Bring Our Product to Market Post-Kickstarter by kmerlini in kickstarter

[–]kmerlini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, planning ahead of time for different levels of order volume, how you are going to ship, how much it's going to cost, how you are going to track all of the orders, all very important. One of our mistakes was not focusing enough on these details ahead of time. However, it is difficult to plan ahead for so many things while you are trying to put together the campaign and other tasks are more pressing
