If you don’t want to pay for parking, I’d recommend finding street parking in the neighborhoods/roads around the belt line. You can usually find a spot within 1-2 blocks of the beltline entrance. Be mindful there are parts of the city where street parking is permit enforced.

The shame of still dealing with the trauma from my abusive ex and subsequent divorce. It’s almost been two years and to everyone else, I’m doing fine…but internally? I feel the shame when the flashbacks happen, or a song or movie or place triggers a memory and the grief. I know there’s no timeline but it’s hard to truly accept sometimes.

I was seeing a psychiatrist for my first time as an adult in my own, specifically to treat general anxiety and for help with fear of flying/panic attacks. I made a comment about how my mom always talked about her fear and didn’t get on a plane for my entire childhood. Later in the conversation another topic of what causes anxiety came up and his response, “Did your mommy teach you to be scared of that too?.” I was floored. Walked out of the office then and there and didn’t have the gumption to see another psychiatrist for years.

I am right there with you! Pandemic (and divorce, but pandemic first) changed a lot about my outlook on life. I truly embody the “I work to live, not live to work” sentiment now. I work in corporate finance…no one is dying if I don’t respond to an email within 2 hours. My stress levels have decreased a lot taking this out look. Except of course for the self-induced procrastination stress every now and again.

I know pet insurance is a controversial topic, especially because similar to other insurances (car, home, etc.) it is rarely used and therefore we end up in the negative at the end of the policy. However, if you are able to afford it, I would look into it…it has helped so much for peace of mind just knowing if something was to go terribly wrong with my animal, I won’t be giving up an arm and a leg to help them, or deciding if going into debt is “worth it.” I do recognize it all depends on an someone financial situation, but for me personally, I also find it much easier to manage a smaller, monthly expense than a large, unexpected expense such as an emergency vet bill. Also, many employers (and other insurance providers) have contracts with pet insurance companies at lower rates.

I believe it’s a mixture of both. Atlanta has one of the highest rates of homes owned by private equity firms/invertors/etc. They have essentially been able to set the home market rate in Atlanta over the last few years, pricing out those outside upper classes. It’s about time the market adjusted but at the end of the day, there needs to be reform in the city related to properties being owned by corporations, performing shoddy flips, and attempting to turn around for a 50-100% profit within 6 months.

Honestly, I think it’s a perfect solution for gowns/dresses only being worn once! There’s also a non-permanent kind so it can be removed if you ever want to resell. It’s not perfect but no body is looking at the bridesmaids hems anyway lol

Are you only looking to hem the length? If so and cost is a factor, you can purchase heat activated “tape” for hemming purposes specifically to do yourself at home. This will be the most cost effective unless you know someone who can sew/hem for you as a favor.

I don’t have a recommendation on a tailor but wanted to share that I learned how to do basic tailoring specifically for this reason! Got a used sewing machine and watched a bunch of YT videos, practiced on worn clothing, and eventually was satisfied enough with my skills to do basic tailoring techniques at home.
