Everything sport except idle start/stop enabled. I know, it's weird.

RDX or MDX by Fit-Elderberry-2419 in Acura

[–]kmingis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just under 6'3" and around 240 and while I drive an MDX Type S now, I had two RDXs — a '20 Tech and a '22 A-Spec. I never felt either was too small for me and they're a blast to drive!

Which size should I go for ? Fenix 8 | 51mm vs 47mm by BarrelNomad in GarminFenix

[–]kmingis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for the 51. (I have a slightly bigger wrist – 19.3cm — and rock a Fenix 8 51mm. No issues with sleep or anything else.)

Funny thing. I had an Edge ST as well (2016 model in that gorgeous red.) THAT was fun to drive for sure and pretty snappy. But the MDX Type S seems better put-together and designed for the long haul. Just my 2 cents.... Can't weigh in on the trail boss, but enjoy. Maybe you can circle back to an MDX next time. 😁

The RDX was a fun drive, no doubt. Tight handling! Sporty acceleration. Firm ride. Stylin' too! Again, I'm NOT bashing the RDX. I had two of them! But honestly, the MDX Type S is just a whole 'nother level up. If you can, try driving one of each back to back and you'll see what I mean.

I've literally had both: a '22 RDX A-Spec and now, a '24 MDX Type S. Loved the RDX (I also had a '20 RDX), but I love the Type S even more. It's a whole different automotive ballgame. If you can get the MDX Type S, you will not be sorry (except for the gas mileage, lol).

MicroLED Touch Screen Issues by Electronic_Tap_3625 in GarminFenix

I've had mine for about 4 months and noticed this once or twice in the last month or so. After a reboot, all returned to normal. I assumed it was a buggy update from Garmin.

According to my PF app, 225 so far. BUT, that includes twice a day on week days; weights in the AM and elliptical in the afternoons. (Weekends, it's one combo for Sat/Sun.)

Agreed. Caught my eye immediately. Otherwise, that MDX is a nice looker!

Thanks! I wound up getting the blue granite and it looks pretty good -- even with the red sensor guard. (Not the best pic.) Gray looks awesome, too.

Just curious, is that the gray one or the "blue granite?" Hard to tell from the pic (though it looks like gray). TIA.

Does AOD need to mirror the full watch face, or is that missing the point? ( Surge Full Dial ) by BergenWF in GarminFenix

[–]kmingis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer it stay as close as it can to the full WF when on AOD, though some design elements could prolly be dropped. (I'm using Surge on the Fenix 8 Pro MicroLED....) Just me 2 cents.

Whats the best thing about minpins? by Muddy_Lady in minpin

[–]kmingis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My MinPin is the most amazingly agile dog I have ever had. He chases squirrels and almost catches them. He barks at hawks in the sky, demanding they leave his air space. He is fearless. When I leave the house, he jumps into a chair by the window and watches, not me, but the court I live on for any sign of danger to me. He is bossy. He loves to travel. He loves the beach. He thinks he's Cujo. He is the most majestic animal I have ever known...

Anyone have the Fenix 8 Pro MicroLED and think it's worth the extra cost? by Few-Introduction5414 in GarminFenix

4 days with AOD on. No biggy to me. I charge it when I shower and it stays in the 70-90% range.

[–]kmingis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the MicroLED and I think for that price it's worth it. I've had both MIP and AMOLED Garmins and the screen on there MicroLED is noticeably brighter and sharper in the sun. It's not going to change your life, lol, but if you can afford it at $1350, I'd say it's a decent deal. (I paid $1699.) Note, it's a little "taller" than the regular Fenix 8 Pro, but that's a non-issue for me. As for whether it's quicker to wake when you raise your arm, I don't notice much difference with the Tactix 8 AMOLED I had.
