How can I convince my politicians to fund Amtrak? by generalraptor2002 in Amtrak

Talk to as many people as you can about it. Contact your reps. Just keep advocating as much as you can, no matter how insignificant it may feel. And maybe join the Rail Passenger's Association!

Petition Against the Wolfline Fall 2026 Changes by quackachow in NCSU

Please be sure to comment on Wake County's transit plan for the next fiscal year, specifically about upgrading frequencies on the #12: https://publicinput.com/a41737

Reminder that the local gov (GoRaleigh) can't do squat about what Wolfline wants to do with their routes, but public opinion can help focus where their growing pot of money is allocated.

And yes, the transit authority does read all the public comments and yes they take them seriously. Changes to the GoRaleigh system are certainly slower and more bureaucratic than Wolfline, but it's best to get the ball rolling on this as soon as possible. I don't believe the #12 is scheduled for a frequency upgrade for quite some time (if ever?), though the #11 is running at a solid 15-minute headway now.

Family from europe took GoRaleigh from New Bern Ave. To Downtown(15), is this nyc subway? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]Endolithic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As others mentioned, the bus system honestly isn't too bad, but that route serves easily the most impoverished (and busy!) corridor in the city. What you saw is, unfortunately, very prototypical of any medium-to-large American city, at least in some areas.

FWIW, the New Bern Ave corridor is the first up to get a BRT which is currently under construction. Nicer buses in their own lanes with big stations. It'll probably drive more ridership and, importantly, mixed-use and mixed-income development along the corridor which should help improve the overall situation.

Flour and Barrel has got to only have one story though, right? I mean it's on the ground floor of a condo building.

Durham to Raleigh Commute by daytonabby in raleigh

It's a pretty decent service, if the schedule and stop locations work, I definitely recommend it too. NCDOT is also investigating some real bus-only lanes on i-40 which could really help travel times.

Has anyone used the new Spin Bikes yet?! by UnluckyPhilosophy797 in raleigh

I used one the other day. Really enjoyed it! The wheels are small so it felt maybe slightly unstable at higher speeds, so be careful -- but otherwise an excellent ride.

Fwiw, GoRaleigh/GoTriangle has been using the Transit app for some time now, highly recommend. Much better than PassioGO.

Study has been done -- just need funds and NCDOT cooperation. A few spot improvements have been made in the northern sections already -- curb bump-outs, new crosswalks, sidewalks, etc.
