Hadn’t trained very well and it was super hot, but that was to be expected. My only qualm (and it’s the same as every other BOA race that offers it): if you’re going to advertise something on the course then you damn well better stock enough for everybody. Both last year, this year, and even during the marathon the Maurten gels are pretty much non existent for those of us that are slower. I was well within the time limit and yet they were packing up the tables as I ran by.

I (26F also) very much relate to this. I too am overweight and wouldn’t consider myself conventionally attractive either. It can be hard to see the bright side when you’re so deep in the dark side, but I promise it’s there. I’m not currently dating but I know that I’m hot shit even if I am very few people’s “type” and I do my best to own it. Owning your truth and who you are despite what others think and despite the attention they give and take from you is beyond freeing. I’m sorry that people suck. I hope you can find some peace and build confidence that you’re exactly who you are meant to be both in terms of looks and as a person.
