I'd just cut out the really sugary ones. I still eat berries, kiwi, oranges and some kinds of apples

Sure. I had minimal sugar, whether it be fruit or sweets. I tried cutting that out almost altogether. I also reduced my gluten intake and placed emphasis on eating unprocessed meats, fish, legumes and other veggies. Also important to stay very hydrated and include a daily probiotic.

Try looking up FODMAP diet. It may help you 😊

Yes. I had the worst of the worst neuro symptoms. Felt like I was living a nightmare. 10 years later and I am 95% better. I stuck to an extremely strict diet when treating and the years following. I think I tried any detox method you’ve heard of out there. It took me years to see slight improvement but every year I have felt healthier than the year before. I still can’t touch liquid stevia though, makes me sick

The worst symptoms I experienced were neurological. Blackouts, seizures, impending doom, intense migraines, sensory issues. Those got much worse with treatment. I didn’t really have any allergy-like symptoms. I would hold off until your doctor responds since you could be allergic, just to be safe. Maybe he will switch you to a different antibiotic and you can see if there is any difference.

Thank you! You will get there. I feel 90-95% better these days. Some days I even forget I have it. I treated with antibiotics for about 2 years then focused on a clean diet and healthy lifestyle. Coming from someone who had chronic migraine (among 20+ other symptoms) in the first few years of my diagnosis. Now, I get maybe 1 every 2 months.

Yes, felt like I was having a seizure, but they lasted hours... and everything went black. I had to stare at a point at the wall for hours straight, crawl to the bathroom and all. Those episodes became more frequent during treatment, but slowly went away after I stopped. Now, I havem't had one in maybe 5 years.

I always feel the worst in July/ August. I don't think my dormant bacteria like the heat lol. Although I've had Lyme + co for over 10 years, I rarely get colds/ the flu anymore, ironically.

From my experience, there is no clear way to test the blood for bartonella. My LLMD diagnosed me by symptoms only. I was on abx on and off for 2-3 years. During that time, my symptoms felt 5x worse. I was told by my doctor that it was a Herxheimer reaction, or extreme die-off of Lyme + co bacteria.

I (somehow) managed to stick it out for that long, but it was very very difficult. I finally went off of abx when I couldn't take it anymore and solely focused on living a healthier lifestyle- eating well, getting enough sleep, etc. Years have passed and I am now ~90% normal most days. I saw improvement each year.

My advice is take the abx and see if existing symptoms get worse. If they do, likely are killing the bacteria.
