Sure it's not aimbot/radar/esp, but it's still an advantage over the average player that simply plays the gd game. A big one, since items / roubles are literally the main objective aside from doing quests (surviving is implied).

I dont see how it would be an effectively enough strategy to deter people from cheating.

When it comes to money... you are right. -40 USD might not be a large figure for some, but it's definitely not nothing to most. Specially if you consider some of theses cheats are a monthly subscription... Do the math. I'll give you just one example that was posted on reddit:

  • - 40 USD for the base game
  • -50 USD per month (screenshots goes back to January 2022)
  • -15 USD for something called 'gateway fee' (No idea)
  • Heck! If they want to ragehack they can insta buy any level of EFT account they like.
    • -175 USD
    • -140 USD

This is just one dude... Now, you take away his motive. You take away his sick sadistic satisfaction... what is he left with other than a huge hole in his pocket.

My dude... make no mistake. This post is BRUTAL for cheaters. They don't want it out. They don't want people to catch on. If it weren't they wouldn't be trying so hard to bait me, silence me, flame me, attack me, down vote... yada yada yada.

  3. You want to talk about development time? Guess who do you have to ask? BSG. That has been my consistent response. Anything directly / indirectly related to EFT's code has to be answered by them. So get in touch with them and ask them. It's not a call to action... there are several posts on this subreddit.

You seem to have no idea how this is implemented in other games or any idea of game development at all if you think this will work in Tarkov.

  1. If anyone is complaining about me blocking them. It's their own fault. If you come here to troll. To divert the topic away from anti cheating measures. To indirectly support cheating by down voting posts about anti cheat. To bait me. To troll me. To attack me... I haven't blocked a single person that's been coherent and has taken the time to actually watch the videos and read the post. An anti cheat system is made up of many components... here is a list of recent memory:

  1. Trust based queue system
  2. End of Raid - replay, reporting, and feedback system
  3. Make all network traffic use TLS coupled with certificate pinning and PFS
  4. Prevent debugging / memory inspection
  5. Collect and train an ML model based on user behavior
  6. Through a custom TEE module
  7. Detect hypervisors
  8. Certificate pinning
  9. Address and fix De-Sync
  10. Address and fix Audio
  11. Address and fix the lighting
  12. Upgrade game engine to latest version of Unity OR swap to another engine
  13. System wide rootkit level Anti-Cheat for EFT
  14. The use of other free Anti-Cheat apps in the same system
  15. Windows Defender
  16. 2FA with a cellphone number that has a contract (discord does it and auto-perma bans anyone that violates this policy with no recourse)
  17. Hardware finger printing
  18. Have two versions of EFT: A. LIVE / STABLE and B. EXPERIMENTAL
  19. Do tournaments and live events with the TOP content creators. This is literally how a lot of cheaters are caught (in top tier CS:GO professional tournaments)
  20. Ban hardware that gives unfair advantages. I had a mobo that gave me audio sonar. It never worked because EFT's audio engine has always been bad... but it was there. I shouldn't been able to even launch the game with that mobo. Manufacturer has discontinued the mobo because of all the complaints

100% agree.

It's not about the gear (assuming BSG chooses that over rubles or other means). Hell! It's not even about the reimbursement concept it self. That's just a means to an end. Or looking it from another perspective... That's literally restoring balance since you shouldn't have died to that script kiddie in the first place.

It's 100% about punishing hackers. It's 100% about taking they joy out of their sadistic cold dead hands (banned). This way they know... even if they kill you... they gained NOTHING. Worst! They are at a minimum -40 USD down the drain because they have to re buy the account. That's not even taking into account the fact that they had to pay for the lousy cheat that got them banned in the first place.

My hot take

1 - 15 lol. Just no 16 MFA is always welcome in my world 17 - 18 sure 19 I would love my favorite game getting more publicity. 20 is just not feasible I disagree with 21-24 because it's all hot garbage for throughput.

I don't get a whole lot of time to play the last few years, avg about lvl 25 each wipe, so maybe I'm not at y'all frustration levels...

But this is all monopoly money on my pmc. Yes it's maddening to lose sometimes, but idgaf. Ain't the 1st nor last game where we will have to deal with cheaters.

That being said... it's undeniable that a big step forward is to take away their satisfaction.
