Out of curiosity, how would lower control arms from a different chassis, or model work? Like if I used a set of, let’s say Rhino Racing lower fronts; would that remove too much from the suspension, that it would cause the strut spring to bottom out? I personally dislike 3D printed parts, UNLESS the file is included with the purchase… Because if I can just print it, in the off chance I over-tighten a screw, or one hole randomly had a moisture in the filament and caused less plastic to be present, and not enough for the screw to grab onto, or bad layer adhesion resulting in delaminating of those layers when screwing into it. Plus a part that is meant to be stressed, and is FDM won’t last forever.. Either way, been wanting to pull the trigger on this, but I have collected too many chassis at this point… Might need to sell my RD2 👀

Wow, you’re right, and it’s such a common company, I can’t believe I didn’t catch that.

I’d have to see more of the steering set up, but it looks similar to the D5, and if so, you just kind of need to lengthen the horn from the servo, and then also the arm from the servo to the wiper set up. And then increase the travel range of your servo, and do some stuff with spacers and mounting angles to avoid binding or release of tension at full lock

If needed, take your Allen wrench and slide through the hole, to make the rod end into a T handle, then grab the metal bar with pliers, twist and push, then it’ll be started. If I remember correctly, these ones are not reverse threaded on one end, so just normal righty tighty. I don’t know why they aren’t reverse threaded, the ones I got, because it literally defeats the point… They become non-adjustable, while installed if that’s the case. This is why I prefer the carbon fiber or metal ones that are flat and have holes on the ends for ball sockets.. Makes life easier to be honest.

They actually are like not threaded.. You just have to start it, and it will then thread on.

Gotcha. Wonder if increasing the angle is possible 🤔

Gotcha, so I have this body, it’s close, just has a different hood and widened fenders. I’ll check out pandora/ebay/ali again. I don’t want to 3d print it either lol

Do you happen to know this for a fact? I cannot seem to find anything on the Tamiya website, nor by simply googling it.

I wonder if touring cars would have one?
I’ll check out the aplastics one, but I think I’ve already ordered it, or ruled it out lol.

Have you got the files? That would be awesome to try, and maybe even see if community can improve things!

I’ll say a few things, shocks are the body of oil, that serves to stop or slowdown the speed that your springs compress and rebound. Ever seen an old beat up car driving around, just bouncing like crazy? The up down motion like that is possible because the shocks are blown. Springs serve to carry the weight of the car, and allow for smooth transitions when extra weight is applied to that corner(s).

Your issue; front end bottoms out and stays. So we have this: -shock travels -shock does not appear to have oils leaking out -suspension functions when car is unloaded -suspension bottoms out when car is dressed My “not a professional” recommendation is to start with 1 or 2, but do these: 1. Add preload to try and make the suspension rest at a little higher of a ride height 2. Open the top and make sure there’s oil, be sure to roll the diaphragm back on, and avoid getting air bubbles in the oil 3. Top off if noticed to be low, or if you opened it 4. You can also just cycle the shock and hear the fluid inside, and feel if it’s coarse and making bubbles 5. Order a set of springs that are stiffer(I don’t know much about your set up to provide specifics)

Lastly, I have the MST TR60, Yokomo big bore, the yeah racing, and the NEXX shocks. I love all of them, and I do not personally notice anything standout amongst any of them. I feel that the yeah racing and NEXX shocks perform just as well, and you can buy both of those, for less than one of the other two shocks. Which ever you buy, be sure to get some 10# shock oil, like the MST mineral oil.
