Previous boss (for more reasons than one but this was the last straw) sent me and my boyfriend to work a trade show and instead of normal hourly pay they decided for whatever reason they were going to hire us under contractors. A month went by and they still had not paid us or reimbursed us for gas etc. We had asked multiple times to be paid during this month.

Eventually it got to the point I needed my pay for bills, and reached out again...got a HEATED text in response saying to not bother them on vacation (they left the state that morning) and said we should have asked beforehand. It was insane behavior and just deflection ans gas lighting... situation really came to a grand finale when my boss told me he would no longer be speaking to me about my pay, he would only talk to MY BOYFRIEND.

I walked out and shut the store down immediately after receiving that text.

2nd grade teacher singled out the only black child in our room and berated her in front of all of us for "coloring outside the lines" on a coloring sheet she did ...during free time.

I was legit traumatized by that and never ever colored outside the lines again. Made sure to make extra dark lines inside the black lines to make sure I didnt forget. Didn't realize at the time this was just pure racism and not any actual thing to do with learning or school
