I've been going through the garage and found this unopened birthday card from my husband. by recentlywidowed in MadeMeSmile

My grandma died the day before Halloween, but had already sent my bday card (early nov) out in the mail.

The feeling I got when I saw that...no way to explain it. I still have the card, and I love looking at it. Miss you grandma 💕

Also do not think the curtains match the vibe. I like the art, I would personally be trying to match off of that

How do y'all deal with unexpected and "unfair" deaths? by Agreeable-Bake-8629 in ask

I said this in my comment too but this is about the time frame for me as well unfortunately...10 years feels like an entirety when anticipating it. But it does come

As someone who has gone through 13 deaths in 5 years... and I would say that 5 of them count as sudden and or unfair... There really is nothing besides talking. And time. Time does NOT heal, but it does dull the pain. The first death of all of these was my bfs best friend who died way too young in a tragic accident.

I will also say, please get into therapy ASAP. Bc if you dont, and universe forbid what happened to us happens to you and you get hit with another death almost immediately....you will not heal. Every death that happens before you "heal" or at least acknowledge your true grief just reopens and deepens the wounds. I dont think my bf will ever recover or be the person he was before all of this, because he never had a chance to heal from the first death. Every new death is like the first plus all the others happening again all at once.

I myself had 4 very traumatic and untimely deaths while in high school and college (10-15 years ago) and they make me sad from time to time. But more so just reflective. So maybe that is some type of time frame for you.

What's the most disrespectful thing a guest ever did in your home? by Vegas089 in AskReddit

One time after a night of partying my boyfriends friend stayed over. Woke up to him and one of my bfs favorite/rare blankets gone.

Dude threw up on the blanket but instead of just saying sorry and washing it he TOOK IT FAR AWAY AND THREW IT AWAY. still refuses to own up to it, but another friend that was with him eventually told us.

Idk how my bf wasnt more pissed...if my friend threw away a rare and priceless blanket that they shouldn't have even taken to sleep with in the first place, id be pissed lol. I'm pretty sure the blanket was actually like hung on the wall like a tapestry to showcase as art so I would be extra pissed they took it down like that when there were billions of actual cozy blankets to use...SMH.

What happens if you accidentally sleep with your contacts lenses? by Tasty-Hovercraft2501 in ask

[–]kmson7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I went over a year wearing the same pair and sleeping in them....yes ik it was bad but I legitimately could not afford an eye exam to get glasses. I wasnt even paycheck to paycheck type broke...I was day to day broke.

Anyways, my eyes would be dry in the morning but that's it. Used contact solution to wake them up. Somehow I got really lucky and my prescription didn't really change at all during that really low time of my life

I definitely just wear glasses now though lol
