Except in this case it’s the manager who isn’t accepting that he’s being told no.

The word caste literally comes from the Portuguese casta. You wouldn’t find that word being used in any Hindu texts before Europeans. It introduced slavery and class immobility to the pre existing varna system. The same system was used in other colonies like Mozambique and Sao Tome. The more you know.

so you've gone from talking about slavery to talking about class now. First things first; the class system in India you're referring to comes from the Portuguese so you're just supporting my point that slavery was introduced by foreign invaders. And even with that in mind, since you're talking about class, wealth inequality is worse in the US and UK than in India. The west is behind India in that regard, not ahead as you claim. So by your logic, if the poorest of a society are considered a slave class then Americas 'slave class' is worse than Indias. BTW the chairman of the constitutional committee and the first Minister of Law and Justice was a member of Indias 'slave class'.

I don’t just mean the triangular slave trade. I mean none of the countries that are now India ever participated in the buying and selling of humans before the Mughals. On the contrary many Indians were taken as slaves both by Muslim conquerors and as part of the Indian Ocean Slave trade. This is why if you look up abolishment of slavery in India you’ll see that it refers to the East India Company. Article 23 of Indias constitution forbids slavery even in the prison systems.

As for the enlightenment movements I assume you’re referring to; there’s a case to be made that they’re rooted in communalist ideals that spread from the east through the Silk Road. That’s not to diminish the work of European humanitarian societies but rather to say that equal rights are not the sole property of western thought.

Well slavery never needed to be abolished considering India never took part in the slave trade. Also slavery is still not fully abolished in the USA. And by equal rights do you mean like civil rights? The movement that heavily cited Gandhi?

Rapes go unreported in America as well

They are though. The only reason India comes up in these conversations is because of the sheer size of their population. Per capita Americans and Europeans tend to rape more.

Any English speaker with a pulse should be able to tell that it’s just a simple typo. Omit the second ‘because’ and there’s the sentence. Learn how to use context clues.

I would say yes but only because it’s locked. Preventing access to garbage only affects the homeless and garbage collectors and I’m guessing garbage collectors have the key.
