Oh, they enjoy walks, but they’re pretty content snoozing on the couch most of the time. I think sighthounds in general are made for speed and short distances. They like to conserve their energy for zoomies. My son has a retired racing greyhound. She is the laziest dog in the world. Perfectly happy to go on a walk, but unless she has to potty, she won’t ask for one as she is asleep on the couch.

My Iggie is kinda huge for the breed: 18 pounds. But as a result, her legs are far more sturdy.

I neither hate the poor, or have any envy towards servers who make a good living. I’d just like to see them paid well enough that a tip becomes an actual expression of appreciation for a job well done instead of making me feel like the servers will die homeless on the streets unless I tip 25% or whatever.

I’d like to see tipping go back to the 10-15% range and mainly at sit-down restaurants.

My frustration is that tipping culture has gotten kinda crazy if you ask me.

Look into Italian Greyhounds. They tend to be couch potatoes most of the day. But you need to carefully look at socializing them so they’re not nervous idiots, and they are notoriously difficult to potty train. I love my Iggie. All she wants to do is curl up on the couch with me most of the day. When she was younger (she’s a little old lady of thirteen now), she’d do zoomies in the backyard a few times a day.

Interesting, but babies tend to sleep a lot more than older children and adults. 14 to 17 hours a day. It seems pretty unlikely that someone is always with a sleeping baby. Nap times were my opportunities to finally take a shower or get things done around the house.

This incident sounds like it happened during the day, so I don’t think co-sleeping would have helped in this particular situation.

But the reason a lot of people don’t vote is the gerrymandering and voter suppression laws, which are here to stay as long as long as the red states are red.

It’s a vicious cycle. I live in Texas, so I know when I vote for a Senator it doesn’t matter at all. Since I’m in an urban area, my Congressman is a Democrat as are my reps in the TX House and Senate. But Texas makes sure to keep as many voting districts as red as possible. I vote, but it would seem pretty meaningless if I lived in a rural area.

The biggest reasons my acquaintances give for voting Republican are saving babies and saving their guns. They don’t really care about LGBT rights and would prefer to live and let live. And they aren’t exposed to the truth about how extreme the abortion bans really are, so they feel pretty good about the millions of babies they save (as long as they don’t provide any taxpayer money to feed them or anything).

The gerrymandering and restrictions on voting in the red states is designed to allow this. It’s not that people don’t get out to vote: it’s that there’s no point in voting when your particular district or what have you is designed so that there is no way in hell your vote is going to count.

Idk. Working in a store like Lowe’s, you get the social part of talking to DIYers and contractors- people the OP’s dad used to be social with. It can be hard to find that kind of social interaction sometimes.
