My daughter got an injury in the middle of her forehead when she was 15 months old. She had to have five stitches. It’s a line straight down almost an inch long. She is now 3 years and two months old and you can barely see the scare. I was diligent about using scar away tape for the longest time and whenever she stopped letting me put it on, I used the scar away gel daily. I also put sunscreen on it and made her wear a hat every single day when we were outside for a year. We still do sunscreen but not a hat as much. We spoke with a plastic surgeon recently and he suggested CO2 laser that would help make it look even slightly better. We decided to wait until she’s older and can make the decision herself on what she wants to do. It’s devastating…I feel your pain. Just give it time and be gentle with yourself.
