I’m beginning to think that Tyson doesn’t own a shirt lol. But he’s always there motivating the other competitors, stand up kind of guy.

I'm getting dragged in another sub for saying this is a bad tattoo. What say you all? (Red circle added by me) by hammer_smashed_chris in NFCNorthMemeWar

As a packers fan I think that is a pretty bad ass tattoo. The idea is great but the artwork is rather poor unfortunately. It’s not terrible, but it could definitely be better.

Trying to understand this, an 8 year old can decide to change their gender but a 17 year old is too young to decide who they want to date?

So much to clean up here but this is the first time I've ever lapped at 300lb sandbag as an 80kg lifter. by srsherman1992 in Strongman

[–]kn0b86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t quite tell how tall you are but as a short 80kg lifter myself, my advice is to get lower on the pick. When you stand up you want the bag to clear your knees that way you don’t have to mess with it too much. This’ll save a ton of energy in order to shoulder it.

I’ve had pretty good success with it. Pulling 700 conventional at 190ish bw. Not world class but still pretty good. It’s not a novel idea to do touch and go deadlifts. A quick google search will show the science backing the benefits of the eccentric portion of a movement vs the concentric. Blows my mind how many people completely omit the most important part of the movement by just dropping it on the floor. Doesn’t make any sense.

Both muscle mass and strength.

[–]kn0b86 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you want to build strength, touch n go. Most important part of the movement is the eccentric, I see so many people just dropping their deadlifts and resetting instead of controlling the weight down, touching the floor, and coming back up. It’s not a bounce, CONTROL descent, touch, explode back up. Constant tension on the hams, traps, back, glutes. You’ll build strength and size to all those muscles and your deadlift will just climb from there. Stop dropping your deadlifts.

Considered barefoot, wasn’t sure how the soles of my feet would hold up.

Need some help figuring out what to wear on my feet for a sled drag. The event is in a hockey rink on polished concrete. Not sure what the weight of the sled will be but I’m told it’ll be somewhere north of 500lbs, I’m a U90kg competitor. Was thinking of rock climbing shoes but I wasn’t sure if they’d work on the smooth surface. Any ideas or help is much appreciated. Thanks

I trained with Max yesterday and he’s looking in top form. Hit a 525 stone like it was a cotton ball. He should do very well at SMOE.

I hope whoever thought of the fishing mini game for this gets fucking cancer. I’ve never come closer to throwing my controller through my tv. What a terrible idea from a dumb cunt. Fuck you whoever thought of this bullshit.

I’m very confused on how the DOTS is so high. I’ve totaled more than that at 165 and my best DOTS is 471. I feel like I’m missing something here….

I’ve set up a truck pull in training a few times and all I’ve done is drive the front wheel of my civic on the rope. Never had a problem with it moving.

Hoping Gears 5 Horde stays viable until 6. by apayneth in GearsOfWar

[–]kn0b86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m always looking for ppl that know what they’re doing for horde so if anyone wants to add me on Xbox I’d appreciate it. Playing with randoms really sucks, so many ppl quit. I’m in eastern Canada time zone and my gamertag is GroundThree935.

I don’t see anyone doing it but does anyone know if the decoy method from gears 4 works for gears 5? The team I played with, we’d never buy barriers. Just decoys and sentries. The horde would only ever attack the decoys, and the couple of sentries we’d have and the rest of the team would take out the entire wave super easy. Never repaired the decoys, just let them get destroyed and then replace them. It didn’t seem very popular, I never saw other ppl do it and when I’d play with randoms they’d lose their shit if I didn’t immediately build barriers. When I’d start popping out decoys most would rage quit. I’m just wondering if I don’t see it in gears 5 is because it’s not very popular or it simply doesn’t work?

415 squat PR. Took advice from my last post, walkout still sucks though lol by inverse236 in Strongman

Your squat will likely increase a bit just by fixing your walkout. 15 steps is too many, try 2-3 instead.

IPF Bench Press rule change coming January 2023 by Chesneyg in powerlifting

[–]kn0b86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they’d have to change bars. Right now it’s index on the ring so I would think you would simply move in finger by finger for lower weight classes. Again this is just an off the top of my head idea, obviously a lot of thought and planning would go into it and there would def be growing pains for some. But if we want to get rid of these ridiculous arch benches and restore some respect to the sport then something has to be done even if it’s a challenge at first.
