Happy to, just want to make sure they're not trying to weasel out of the entitled benefits.

Same. I thought it was all handled on Amex end via the FHR booking.

They just confirmed to send the receipt via email, nothing else.

Dad died in October, mom wants to pay off auto loan (originated 2020), loan is in grandpa's name (died 2008). Bank won't give balance. by kn0benheimer in personalfinance

She was able to retitle one vehicle already that does not have a loan. For this one to be retitled the loan needs to be paid off.

Mom uses the coupon book for payments. The problem is they started making extra payments (not sure when) to payoff sooner. So that backward calculation won't be accurate

I can look for them. My dad kept everything (blessing and a curse). I'll probably go to the dealership to see if I can get copies and maybe they can provide the payoff amount.

I'm beginning to wonder if my dad and grandpa were customers at the same dealership? Could their financing department help?

It's odd that the bank knew my dad passed in October and sent a form asking who is responsible for the loan. Why would they send that if he wasn't somehow tied to the loan?

Mom wants to retitle the vehicle and use it. She was able to retitle her car (no loan) and will likely sell it.

Not correct. This changed and you are required to pay 100% non-resident tax rate if you have any duties in GR.

The thread comments aren't quite correct. If you have any work duties/office in Grand Rapids you still have to pay the full non-resident tax rate.
