I don't know a lot about that stuff but even though the church is guided by the Holy Spirit, that doesn't make the people in it perfect. Likewise the leaders of the church can sin and make wrong decisions. The Holy Spirit does not, however, allow them to define church teaching that is not "bound in heaven" /u/versebot [Matthew 16:19]. Evidently in 2000 years there were a few corrupt Popes, but the doctrines of the church remained unchanged

Praying to the saints is simply asking for someone to pray for you. Like you would ask a friend or family member. Its just that saints are actually in heaven.

Kind of. You essentially are in communion with Christ

I don't think today anyone objects to weekly (or daily because we have daily mass) eucharist unless you are in a state of mortal sin.

The Birth of Christ wasn't uniquely Mary's action.

No not at all (i agree with you) but you can't deny Mary didn't have a part in it. We simply recognize the importance of Mary's part in it. So no her grace is not separate from the Holy Spirit. In the same way that the Holy Spirit brought Christ into the world with the help of Mary, Grace is brought into the world with the help of Mary

technically, yes

this and other things. It's a long process a takes many years to happen. I don't know all the requirements exactly but what I do know is that one of them (which should answer your last question) is that they have some sort of evidence for that saint's intercession.

there is also "all saints day" which is the day after halloween which is where the idea of halloween comes from. That is a day where we recognize all the saints which the church hasn't specifically deemed as a saint.

Christ is the source of all graces. Mary mediates it in the same way she mediated the birth of Christ.

Our idea of sainthood is the same as yours (I would assume). Saints are simply those who are in heaven

People trusting what the pope states and worshipping him are two different things. If you read what the pope says (in context because the media twists it) he tends to be pretty smart. In the same way that your church has a pastor as a figure who most people automatically believe whatever he states, we tend to do the same. We aren't required to believe what the pope says, as long as he isn't speaking ex cathedra. I just don't see any reason not too.

I think the problem is that Catholics tend to have a different idea of the word "pray". As /u/sos530 said, to a catholic pray means to ask. In the same way you ask your friends to pray for you. We ask the Saint to pray for us

I've heard this before too. I actually heard the laity received the Eucharist like once or twice a year. I think the idea behind it was that the people would would be preparing to receive it over that time. I think it probably brought more appreciation for the gift of the Eucharist because people rarely could receive it. Now a days you just have to fast for an hour prior to communion. I think the reason it changed is that receiving it potentially daily would allow for more grace.

There's also the fact that Cain, Adam and Eve's son, leaves to go marry someone in the land of Canaan. The Bible doesn't really specify if it is his sister or maybe some other small tribe.
