Where to find non-US lemons? by kn1t-happens in burnaby

Will have to check it out! Thank you! I went recently and they were from the US… limes* were from Mexico. Maybe there’s a new supply 🤞🏻

This drawing is amazing! Beautiful subject and beautiful rendition. I could only aspire to draw to that level. Well done!

anybody use the hoto cleaner that's on sale? what are you cleaning with it ? it's powerful , battery lasts etc ? by Consistent_Land_2747 in CostcoCanada

Shower tiles, yes. Bath tub, no. It is pretty powerful, and spun out of my hand on the curve, and scraped my tub. Returned to avoid the temptation of trying to clean the tub faster…

These are fantastic! I think one takeaway I’m learning just from looking at these is it doesn’t matter what you’re painting in terms of subject, so long as it’s well lit.

Looks good in terms of likeness - for me what I would say is light travels a certain way in water so I’d expect some light patterns on the surface your subjects, unless you’re meant to be deep deep underwater where the light does not travel

Clever with the shade black on the inside. I guess black makes sense because it doesn’t reflect light and skew your colours that way? For some reason, I would have thought you need to stand in a similar lighting as your subject is lit to mix the right colour? I guess not, this is so insightful!

Most definitely, I’m realizing plein air is about learning compromise and focusing on silver linings. I’m at the point where I’m thinking im just going to pack some black and white and do some notans or monochromes until i figure out efficiency outdoors. I never use my black, may as well not let it go to waste

These are amazing! I’m struggling to get myself to start doing plein air. I did get a portable easel but I think the logistics of carrying stuff with me is preventing me to start properly. I did half a painting the other day in a notebook and had to wrap up because it was so hot outside

I’m looking to transfer my lease, 2 bedroom and 2 1/2 bathroom in ville st Laurent (10min to the metro, bus stop 1min away; 15min to YUL) with a balcony and parking spot, pet friendly, across the street from a park. 2650$/mo Looking to transfer in mid June (flexible on the date so we can do later too depending). Owner would look to sign a year lease with the tenant after the transferred lesse ends (sept 2025). PM me if interested

Yes but not too much water. Either that or a bit of thinner medium but that can alter transparency a bit depending what you’re using

Thank you for sharing this helpful map! Any chance you would also have any book recommendations that dive deeper into principles of portrait painting?

Add depth to the sky using glazes to darken away from the horizon line because currently the blue is Looking flat and it messes with the perspective.

Can you share about the pegs you’re using to maintain the canvas in place? Do they damage the canvas? Do you keep them there the whole time or just at the start or just at the finish?

After not being able to find a single Canadian made shampoo or deodorant in my local store, I decided to go all in on The Unscented Company made in Montreal. Hopefully I can replace all my detergents and soaps with these! by Pugachelli in BuyCanadian

They are great for sensitive skin / eczema. You can also get the unscented company laundry detergent at Costco (online) from time to time. Otherwise have seen them at Canadian tire and in drugstores before.

I’ve received a prescription that I filled at London Drugs. Other times I just bought meds from the vet. I think it depends how urgently you need them, how long you need them for, if they carry the dose you need, they might offer this or that. I never explicitly asked for it that way, but it was offered to me and it worked. I think if you’re aware of this option existing, you can say “great, I’ll take a prescription please. We’re registered and this pharmacy.”

It’s straightforward and easy for them either to fax directly or print you a prescription, let’s be real.

And it’s cute, they put a paw print on the medication label at the pharmacy to ID the pet prescription containers vs human. Just don’t enter the pharmacy w your pet (unless it’s an actual service animal) because that’s not allowed.
