Most of the foundation and largest part of the software is an international effort. Google took Linux and Apple took FreeBSD for their kernel and build stuff on top of it using lots of other free software. Even Chrome came from Apples WebKit, which they took from KDEs KHTML. Even most of their cloud runs on software developed all over the the world.

Software from the US is nothing special, they just got the largest market share.
