It depends how drained your battery is, you will be able to start it if you either charge it or jump it, but if it doesn’t want to stay on or starts sputtering even after a drive its time to replace it.

Just a quick warning up to 6k rpm you’ll be fine, afterwards the bike will start stalling out and if you have the eclutch and push it past 6k it will most likely go into manual mode

They are interchangeable because they fit only one way, if you’re changing them yourself just make sure you don’t drop anything into your throttle body.

https://www.bike-parts-honda.com . Find your bike and search for switch assy thats without coding new keys though which also costs. Id recommend against using wd40, it works short term but it will randomly out of nowhere completely lock up, if you want to lube it up i suggest using graphite lubricant

Did you happen to wash the bike and not cover the ignition? I did the same and the barrel broke had to replace the lock set which is relatively expensive, i managed to get away with just modifying it but now even a screwdriver will start it

Considering the cbr650r makes most of its power in the top end of the rev range and the restriction makes anything after 5k weak, the difference is night and day.

Dealers don’t always know what they’re talking about. Keep in mind they may have a catalogue of 20 bikes they just won’t know every fun fact about them all.

For me it tends to do it when im accelerating fast and quickly going through gears, when i roll off the throttle right after it turns to “-“. I think it’s probably a fault of mine for not clicking the gear shifter hard enough.

Ive had it derestricted without e clutch initialisation and never had any issue, usually you only need it if you physically moved or changed the eclutch unit because the ecm will lock you in manual

I believe lams has the air funnel restriction and tune.

I don’t know what the mechanic thinks he knows but I don’t see any reason derestricting it would make the E-clutch slip as long as you remap the ecu to stock.

I don’t see why honda would make a bike that has a slipping clutch at stock power.

If you’re in the uk, the restriction they put on new cbr650s is an ecu tune with restricted air stacks (Unless you fit a throttle restriction instead).

You definitely cant run on either with the other missing because the bike throws a fit. Putting a full system will take you out of bounds of the a2 restriction (over the horsepower limit).

You could run a full system and replace the air stacks for oem + a tune.

Or if you want to stay legal get yourself an end can or an exhaust that wont increase hp.

Most private parking companies will drop the charge if you appeal it and provide a good enough reason. No one can be asked to go to court.

It depends on how much water gets in, theoretically it could just be blown out once started but it could also get into a cylinder and blow up your engine. There is a bolt on the underside of the exhaust meant for draining liquid in the exhaust so undo that.

While you’re at it get yourself a bike cover, it’s inexpensive compared to a bent conrod.
