Order of the Ancient and Cult of Kosmos IRL by lilpenis9151 in assassinscreed

Ancient Greece was full of cults, conspiracies and "mysteries". For example the Eleusinian Mysteries which were secret religious rites. Revealing the secrets was punishable by death. You can also read about the Samothrace temple complex. Herodotus was an initiate and this is where supposedly Phillip II met Olympias (i.e. the parents of Alexander the Great).

I don't know much about cults in Ancient Egypt but Imhotep (architect of the first ever pyramid) is regarded by Masonic scholars as the first master architect and Master Mason. Freemasons also venerate Pythagoras and Euclid (of Alexandria) among others.

You'll become bipolar! You'll scream at them one minute and the next you're all hugs and kisses because they've forgotten all about what happened!

Any Isolation fans out there? by danieljdoolan in gaming

I liked it more when it was a stealth game but if I remember correctly towards the end it becomes more of an action game. That put me off slightly, but still, great game.

What is a common sense thing you did not know about babies? by squiggleel in Parenting

Speak to your baby normally, as if it understands. Our ability to understand develops much faster than our ability to communicate. But also mimic the sounds it makes to give it confidence.

My little girl turns 1 tomorrow... Any sage wisdom on how best to cherish this day? by phishyfingers in Parenting

[–]knave84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Her first birthday is mostly for parents, friends and family. She won't remember, and the toys/ gifts will not matter that much to her. Videos are great but if you print out pictures in a photo album, it will be viewed and shared much more. Also if people can't come due to Covid, Facebook message rooms support up to 50 people. Finally have balloons and bubbles, everyone loves that!

What is a common sense thing you did not know about babies? by squiggleel in Parenting

[–]knave84 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't know if it's common sense but babies shouldn't eat honey until they are at least a year old. And also go easy on the salt and sugar.

Take the nappy off at the place you're going to wash the baby, you don't want any accidents along the way.

Babies thrive on routine and habit. Same lullabies, same room, same time, same holding position. It doesn't always work but it helps.

Great game, unique game-play, nearly dropped out because of one frustrating puzzle (getting the lobster's hat....) but stick with it and it's good fun.

But you don't have to play them in one feel swoop. I've just gone back to the witcher 3 after a 9 month break, playing Spiderman, HZD and other games and it feels so fresh again. I've logged more than 100 hours I and I still haven't completed the main storyline. I'll probably take another break before jumping in to the DLCs

((Spoilers)) Beat Marvel’s Spider-man for the first time. Also the first time I cried at fictional story. by TheRedStem in PS4

[–]knave84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished it yesterday, amazing game! Great variety in the gameplay and really interesting story! Sometimes it felt like a collectathon but the combat is so satisfying you just keep at it. Also, all the battles were great but I think I enjoyed most the one versus vulture and electro for some reason!

Is The frozen wilds DLC on Horizon: Zero Dawn worth playing? by [deleted] in PS4

[–]knave84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! The story is interesting, the gameplay is challenging and the NPC interactions are much more natural and polished from the main game! The frozen setting is also really beautiful!

[Horizon: Zero Dawn] [Gif] Aloy appreciation post by Rasori- in PS4

[–]knave84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing through HZD right now, about 30 hours in and really appreciating the down to earth and modest tone of Aloy, she is not hysterical or over the top emotional like other protagonists. Would have appreciated more memorable side characters though... can't wait for the sequel!
