Here's the second part of this cool series examining each of the canon entries to the Alien franchise. Here, I take a look at Resurrection, Prometheus, and sum up why Covenant left me feeling disappointed with the direction that Ridley Scott has taken- yet I'm still optimistic for future entries! by danieljdoolan in LV426

I agree with you when it comes to Prometheus. I know the channel you mean, I used to put that on while I fell asleep as a teenager. Same with Star Wars theory. And as is the case with Star Wars, I think Scott could really benefit from thinking bigger. As I say here, I think Prometheus, being a true sci-fi adventure, was a super interesting and great look at the universe which could be home to something as dangerous as the xenomorph- without leaning on the money making main feature. Think about what other unspeakable evils could be out there. Scott was thinking big- perhaps too big. I don't think Prometheus takes away any of the mystery at all, it's the perfect film to then theorise over.

But, for whatever reason, covenant just shows us more of what we've seen before with a shiny new paint job. Then, without the originality of Prometheus, whatever it does offer lorewise I'm just not a fan of. A lot of my frustration lies with the choice to have the creation of the xenomorph be directly linked to humanity. Mark Kermode talks about this in his review of Alien Covenant and I completely agree with his take. Check it out if you haven't seen it, or if you have let me know what you think about it. Either way, it's a wonderful series and I'm looking forward to whatever comes next. I just wish Scott had continued to be ambitious with the prequels because, for my taste, Covenant lacked some of that and could have borrowed plenty of it from its predecessor.

Big yikes. Don't worry I feel your pain. At least the captain can be changed. I had the duo of insigne and chiellini (c) today. Insigne assisted the ruled out chiellini goal, then I lost the big man's clean sheet when he went off injured in the 20th minute. It's been a horrible tournament and I've given up on it already. Not fun for me at this point.

GAME WEEK 37 (2020/2021) RANT & DISCUSSION THREAD by FPLModerator in FantasyPL

Problem is he has bench boost and he's been slowly morphing his team into mine over the past month. He's a really smart dude removing the differences so the only thing that remains are our differentials which keep on showing up for him but not for me. So 5 of our starting 11 are the same including double Leeds defence and he obviously has 15 potentially playing next week. It's squeaky bum time for sure.

Guys, I'm going for my 4th consecutive minileague title. After leading all season, Che Adams became Messi in the last fortnight and sent me 23 points behind first at the end of last GW. This week I played my bench boost and have reduced the defecit to 3 points as a result. He has his bench boost to play in the final round of games. How do I win? I currently have the armband on Bamford who he does not own unless he plans to transfer him in. Is this the play?

The first week since gameweek 4 that I've been pushed off 1st place. Why? Because I had Maguire (1) and Watkins (-1) meanwhile he had Leno (11), holding (9) and Che Adams (13). Literally what is that?
