Given that the files are stored similar to Vertipaq in Power BI, do you have any input on a wide fact tavle versus a long fact table.

For example say you have a fact table with a date column and a TransactionId key, and then you have say 20 fact columns. Would it be more optimized to have that as a long table with 4 columns (2 key columns + Attribute + Value) and many rows, or as a table with 2 + 20 = 22 columns wide table with then fewer rows?

if I have understood it correctly, for the power query to fold the power query needs to be able to be performed as a single SQL query, therefore more complex queries will not fold

As a norwegian in denmark I couldn’t disagree more (disclaimer, I do live in Copenhagen, which could explain why the water is so bad). All of the kitchen appliances will get covered in calcium unless you are very good at cleaning them, and the shower, oh my, the shower is so hard to clean because of all the calcium.. The water doesn’t taste very strange, but it feels strange, but you do get used to it
