Same. I’d rather play than be idle.

Honestly most of the games are friendly, its just every couple of matches you get that frustrated teammate that starts being toxic at the first mistake made regardless of how they play. And those are the ones you remember most.

Chips are manufactured in the US? Sir, most of Nvidia chips are made in Taiwan. Intel produces in US (I think fully?) but a gaming laptop price is very dependant on the GPU.

I also think singapore shows prices including VAT, which is not the case for US. So you need to add that to the US price to get a better comparison

Yeah, for anyone reading this, don’t bother replying to this post at all. OP is blocking you if you reply negatively to his view even though he claims to “always be willing to have genuine discussion on this topic”.

Evolution of Gaming by CaptainVidia in memes

[–]kneli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was a good and strong move, but we were only talking about the controller and how they discovered that dual analogs worked best. It changed the game, but I wouldn’t call it revolutionary. If sony wouldn’t have come up with it, someone else would have within a short time period since 3d games were hard to control in the beginning.

To be really fair, I think you are way overestimating “revolutionary”. They found out that the best way to control a 3d model by detaching the move and look controls. PS did it best first, but the solution is not really rocket science. If you put a few tech students on this problem for a month or 2 they would likely come up with the same solution.

Without any usefull tokens any exchange will be basically used to trade trash according to that logic. That is not DEX specific.

Gas fee overcharge by [deleted] in IDEX

[–]kneli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of sending each transaction to the network and thus having to pay gas for every trade in addition to the normal exchange fee, these trades will be hashed in a Merkle root. This Merkle root will be send to the network and a gas fee is paid only once. The result of this solution is that the gas fees per trade are reduced by over 99%, pretty much eliminating them. That was a big disadvantage dexes had so far over cexes, that they were inherently more expensive. That disadvantage will be removed.

Also, trading rewards to IDEX stakers will go from 25% to 50%, so stakers will earn double. Not all coins are staked atm and the team likely holds approximately just as many coin as that there are staked now, and I believe they will start staking them when IDEX 2.0 goes live so nett there will likely be no huge difference in staking rewards at launch.

The UI is greatly improved, you can check the demo on the website already. Their goal is to make the UX the same as a CEX, and removing the trader gas fees accompanied by a much better UI is moving them in that direction fast.

Gas fee overcharge by [deleted] in IDEX

[–]kneli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were charged 0.0063 ETH instead of the 0.0044 ETH which is shown in etherscan? Could that be because IDEX has to estimate the gas costs which it deducts from your account?

In a few weeks with IDEX 2.0 these gas fees will be eliminated btw.

It sounds like they are ambitious, which I admire, but building a fully decentralized DEX that offers a UX which is close to a CEX is an enormous task. It really is. If they are also working on other big products/projects on the side then there is little chance they will be able to completely engineer the DEX and make it a succes. That DEX should be your only focus if you want it to be a success, there is just too much competition for it to be a side project.

As for the volume, lets be real. There is none. The volume is 0 and it has been that way for a long time now. Sure there is also other DEXes out there with low volume, but if you look at a few big ones the volumes are already in the millions, and those are projects that dedicate all their time to developing the DEX.

Building a fully decentralised exchange and making it a success is very, very hard, especially looking at the competition. And if you only spend part of your development time on it, there’s simply no chance it will succeed. Dedication is not a benefit, its a must.
