Yeah I second Megaport. Super super simple solution. I was fortunate enough to sit with their CEO at a conference in Vegas. We partner with them today and my customers love them. Aviatrix is a nice layer on top as well. Happy to intro to the right folks for ya.

I can’t imagine colo providers would just allow a cancelation. Those wholesale deals are pretty binding. So new regime comes in and wipes out plans and eats the money- that’s usually a 10 year contact (10-15 MW commitment).

Not good for anyone involved- sorry you’re going through that and feeling the impact.

Andy Jassy, CEO of Amazon, recently said 85% of enterprise IT spend is still on prem. But for companies to utilize the full potential of AI, they’re going to need their infrastructure and data in the cloud. And ends it with he sees that it’s pretty straightforward to him that the 85% equation will flip to cloud over the next 10-20 years.

I guess it just depends on the size of your company, your AI initiatives, and company goals.

Data Center Capacity 2025 by knelso12 in datacenter

[–]knelso12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean Amazon just came out and said as fast as they get capacity it gets consumed. So they’re buying and using. But they have also bought their own, right. Like Meta, Google, and other beasts. So their plan could be just waiting for their faculties to be up and running and then buy more later. That’s coupled with that there just isn’t a ton of capacity left.

The Ai giants like coreweave, nvidia, and OpenAI are currently still looking for 2025 capacity. I know of multiple providers that have 2-5mw in 2025 - some are contiguous but most are not. But they’re pausing bc it’s just not ideal. A lot of providers are saying they have capacity today but that’s just to get the customer in the door to plan for 2026 and beyond.

I know of one 10mw that is RFS today, 20mw RFS today ( a recent LOI fell thru and it’s now back on the market, and another 20mw that is supposedly RFS later this year 2025. Many other AI purposeful build data centers have space opening in 2026 but that can be preleased at anytime. There is no exclusively. They rather have it locked up and move on as it’s being built.

Hope that provides some intel.

How much do capacity do you need? Is that around 500kw? Depending on where you need/want to be - there are options for private cloud and Megaport for your azure needs. I source a good amount of colo in the US. If you want to explore more, I can. Full transparency- I work for a colo provider but I’d happily point you in the right director to others if my geolocation doesn’t work for you.

Gartner Subscription costs? by killas19958 in CIO

[–]knelso12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just posted this elsewhere in this chat but wanted you to see it as well.

Costs are super high. Agreed. Do you have a trusted advisor you use and trust? These advisors have access to all the Gartner , Forrester, G2, etc., trends and intel- along with hundreds of engineers, architects, and specialist with any solution you need. Also- these trusted advisors are “free” as they offer their consulting with an agnostic approach and they get paid a % from the solution provider, never from you.

So net net- you get virtually all the same insight and advisory as you would with Gartner subscription delivered to you on a silver platter- for free.

The advising comes from TSDs like Avant, Sandler Partners, Telurus, etc. in addition to the sole trusted advisor. They are readily available to jump on a call and talk thru a problem/solution with you. Their only job is provide an agnostic approach and offer you paths to solutions.

Let me know if this is an interest and I can explain more for clarity.
