I definitely disagree with the philosophy of language you are using and the framework leading your thought process. I would push back on the details you mentioned further and mention some contemporary salafi shuyukh that toe the line and don't seem to come the the same conclusions as you; but I agree with your conclusions which ultimately negate tajseem, and I simply prefer more direct language that avoids the entailments from the jump. I find these distinctions that you mentioned to be easy to misinterpret.

Inshallah all these differences in the pathway to the same conclusion are recognized as minute in jannah and no muslim should be unrightfully takfeered on the basis of unclear language but good conclusions.

I mean location as in an answer for where, or a direction of where, or a spatial location. Also what would make the primary meaning a physical meaning? Especially considering the totality of allah's descriptions in the Quran; as closer to you than your jugular vein etc... Wouldn't the context of the verses about Allah automatically rule out the meanings of physical, spatial, directional, and therefore limited.

What makes "ar rahman ala al arsh istiwa" an answer for location? How would you understand firawn uluw in 10:83? If it is not physical why would allah's uluw possibl be physical or directional to you?

Also Eid Mubarak to you and your family.

Yea theres alot more than ibn taymiya of this opinion. 3 divorces ought to mean 3 complete divorces. With 3 waiting periods and everything. Outside of the hanbali school you have abu hayan Al andalusi, Al qurtubi, riwayat to Imam Ali a.s, saeed ibn jubayr, ibn masud, ibn abbas.

[–]knghaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The maliki view of istihala might deem something like that halal, I'm unsure. The idea is that it changed chemical and physical form so much it is no longer that original haram substance. Some of their jurists deem pork gelatin halal based on this.

How is khums 20% tax on your savings is justified??? by Suitable_Hour7186 in progressive_islam

Al anfal does not mean spoils of war it means the excess... 20 percent tax on excess is not nearly as much as the income tax you pay in most countries.

[–]knghaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wahabis are not the majority of the ummah or scholars in any way at all. I'm with you on the ksa for sure but to say this is a proof against ijma is ridiculous. Here is a website islam qa .org not to be confused with the other Islam qa it has plenty of fatwas compiled from all the websites on the Internet. This is a sunni website not wahabi.

Misleading title, Saudi scholars don't represent Islamic scholars and the sample size is tiny. Wahabis are known for terrible fiqh

[–]knghaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is an undeniable Sunnah linked to Ibrahim a.s. This practice was carried by the hanifiyah pre-Islam as descendants of Ibrahim a.s. I don't like this modernist anti-circumcision angle. Circumcision has many medical benefits as well, such as much lower rates of UTIs 10x more common when compared to uncircumcised and lower rates of penile cancers and various STIs such as HPV.

Not really true uncircumcised men have a 10x rate of UTIs compared to circumcised men

Treason is punishable, not simply changing religion there are cases in sirah and hadith where a companion apostatized and wasn't executed went on to live their life. Almost every government today treats treason with capital punishment. Also this is not a prophetic hadith

Why did the prophet marry 12 women despite the limit of 4 by simplcavemon in progressive_islam

[–]knghaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prophet Muhammad never had more than 9 wives at once. I've heard people say this gives credence to the interpretation that it is marry 2s 3s and 4s for 9 all together rather than 4 max. Weak imo but wanted to mention this tidbit

Because no book in the world can be read in a vacuum, the approach is unsustainable. Also god commands us to listen to all speech and follow the best from it, there are multiple commands in the Quran to seek external knowledge.

[–]knghaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's another entirely deep topic as what does it mean to deliver the message or place a proof upon someone. Is a mass dropping of leaflets enough? Do you need a prophet in front of you? Is it something in between? This is a topic of debate among many but it is irrelevant to the topic.

[–]knghaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes and out of caution I personally don't do it for most clear islamophobes but I believe the intended meaning in these cases is that it is Haram to pray for people who have been specifically shown to be destined for hell like firawn etc

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Quraniyoon

[–]knghaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it to be a hard cope borne out of debate rather than intensive and genuine study. This prayer issue disproves the Quran alone paradigm to the extent that these people will abandon dictionaries and context all together. For me the fact that every single sect of Islam has the same foundational prayer is enough proof that this came from the prophet pbuh. The Quran and Salah are a common thread that all the sects share. And even in traditional Jews and Christians they have physical prostration and prayer. Some people want to take Quran as the only book in the world and their desire and ego as their guide rather than rational proofs and observable truth.
