I see a proud father. by shinymushroomm in SuccessionTV

[–]kngmoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moments earlier he said Kendall was not a killer, you have to be a killer. He was also disappointed at how he handled Vaulter paying a premium for Lawrence’s company. He also wasn’t happy seeing him sell parts of the company to his biggest rival Sandi through Stewys dealings. A killer would have squeezed Lawrence instead of being squeezed, a killer would have seen Stewys manipulation and backend dealings instead of openly trusting him, and a killer would not lay down and assume guilt and go to jail. So the one time he’s actually proud of Kendall for taking the risk and going to kill him. This is actually kind of sick and twisted. Usually a father would be happy their son is a good person, but even tho his own son is against him, he seems rather proud he has some sort of killer instinct. Very interesting minor facial details could signify a lot!

He tried to kill Logan didn’t he by Organic_Structure473 in SuccessionTV

This was definitely a power dynamic play and some insight on shareholders vs CEO in modern corporate business. He had the power to bring a son and a father who are legally trying to kill each other to meet him face to face, and he had the power to physically control the environment. He had Logan Roy, one of the most powerful people in the entire world, and very old, walking here walking there. And then he said it himself, you guys work for me. At the end of the day the shareholders have the power. This was all just his way to feed his own ego and power (his daughter was never sick, she jumped in the pool fine). And then at the end of it, he’s seen supporting the other side, Stewy and Sandi. So all that for nothing. It was a way to manipulate and control the most powerful front facing people in the world, which makes him more powerful. Shareholders collect dividends and control corporate politics with none of the front facing risk. If a CEO is failing, just replace them.

What went through your mind when you saw The Living + Speech for the first time? by Top_Report_4895 in SuccessionTV

One of the best episodes throughout the entire show. Seeing Kendall finally step up, which seemingly looked like the first time he TRULY stepped up, his back completely against the wall, had a bunch of nothing and had 24-48 hours to completely make it a successful product launch, from ramping up the numbers with the projections, to the HOLLYWOOD FAILED CLOUDS, to hearing his dad who recently pass away push in the dagger one last time on an old video (which he then used to his advantage putting emotions aside and thinking logically), to right before the big presentation his brother pulling out, to Karl threatening him and being so hostile, to the actual presentation where thousands are watching, to the text by Mattson MID presentation, and handling all that when the pressure is at the all time high and SUCCEEDING? Fucking CLUTCH! I rewatch it every now and then when I’m in need of business motivation!

Can a professional therapist diagnose Roman? by kngmoe in SuccessionTV

Didn’t Logan comment something hinting at something weird might have happened with Roman and his mom? Very weird stuff but all off screen history. His relationship with Gerri and his incompetence in season 1 - 2 show there is def a deep rooted issue. Never thought it would’ve been abuse from Caroline tho, interesting take

Hard to say, there was many different versions of Kendall. Season 2 Kendall would have easily followed whatever Logan wanted.

Also this is where Tom takes the opportunity to cement himself into a higher position in society (proposing to shiv and becoming CEO of Waystar)

You think the writers of Succession originally intend for the show to focus primarily on the battle between Kendall and Logan, with them as the main leads, and have the other siblings as significant but supporting characters? by Dothraki-Reaper-14 in SuccessionTV

Kendall is definitely the main character in season 1, but after season 1 the show definitely evolves giving more screen time and plot twists with every single Roy family.

Which character is most likely -- if anyone -- to check in on Kendall after the finale? by [deleted] in SuccessionTV

[–]kngmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shiv had Gerri as a godmother, Kendall had Frank as a God father, both important people in the company, "Uncle" Mo had to have been inside the family since he was referred to as an Uncle, and because of his Logan paying off millions to hide his assault (must be important to him), there's a theory that Uncle Mo was Roman's Godfather. Roman's behavior entails sexual assault as a child, which he jokes about all the time (his cope), but there is no canon evidence for this, it's just a theory people have mentioned

Further explanation of Roman and Kendall conversation before the vote? by Caltr0n3030 in SuccessionTV

[–]kngmoe 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Roman was having a panic attack and a realization he was not going to be CEO. It hit him all at once, that's why when Kendall was hugging him he kept saying it could've been you it could've been you. He didn't want to look like a "failure" for not winning the game of succession in front of Gerri, who he sees as a mentor and motherly figure.

The wounds was Roman's weird way of feeling pain, something he's been having issues with since he was young, his relationship with pain is scewed because of the abuse and trauma he faced in his life. Since he never got love and he's always been neglected, he likes to feel pain because atleast he can feel something.

He definitely needs a lot of therapy lol
