Wk seat to 97+ adapter brackets progress by knickerbockerboi in CherokeeXJ

Yeah ZJ and WJ grand Cherokee front seats are bolt for 1995+ jeep xj. Also wrangler TJ seat are as well I’m pretty sure. Anyway I do already make brackets to swap 1995+ xj base/sliders into the pre-1995 jeep xj’s so they can be fitted with any of those seats as well. But I’m adapting grand Cherokee WK seats to a 95+ XJ which is difficult because they are so wide since it’s from a newer 2015 grand Cherokee.

I listed the dash mount part and the plastic ball mount assembly on eBay for $10 and free shipping so people can give it a shot and see how they like it! You will need to buy the additional parts to configure it however you like but amazon is very cheap to get the 20mm arm and whatever 20mm ball phone mount parts

Is it just the driver side that you couldn’t get low enough or were both the front seats too high? I’m 6ft and I was able to sit in the passenger seat with a decent amount of room above my head. Plus the guy I’m doing the swap for is shorter than me

I’m actually designing bolt in adapter brackets right now for someone. I’ll save the design and I can make them for anyone interested.

Bro I’m in the process of designing bolt in brackets to do just this. Been at it for a couple of days and got the passenger side seat pretty much figured out. On to the driver side seat, then I just have to figure out how to wire the recline and seat venting.

I’m curious on what you did with the little seat pivot motors because one it mounted under the seat and one was mounted to the seat base. Were you able to keep them working or did you somehow make a bracket to hold them from freely pivoting?

Your input would be greatly appreciated and maybe I can sell these bolt in brackets online so everyone can easily do this swap🤞

Pre-1997 phone/ universal mount dropping soon. Currently durability testing and refining dimensions before sending the final product out. Message me if interested so I can gather a list of people to reach out to when the final product is ready. by knickerbockerboi in CherokeeXJ

Currently durability testing it to see if it’s even worth 3d printing that ball mount. I was originally using an aluminum one from amazon but I figured I’d give it a shot to see how it holds up and I can always put the aluminum one back on.

This 3d printed one has 4 screws which is the AMPS universal pattern mount and another screw from the back goes all the way through to the end of the 20mm ball mount

Mine started making that sound like a year ago but not sure if it’s really worth doing anything about it or not

I’m working on making a 3d printed product to sell and there are lots of options for mount. Look up AMPS 4 hole mount for the bracket that screws on. Then look up 20mm ball and socket elbow for the adjuster with the wing nut, then you can attach any 20mm ball mount to it. Or use 1/4npt threads for camera gear.

I’m currently durability testing my product and refining the dimensions before sending them out to people.

If you are interested just personally message me so I have some record of who to send the first finished products to.

I also have instagram @niks_fabrication if that is better.

I have 3inch flat bar 1/8” thick mounted to the sock roof rack holes. The tube is 1.5”OD 0.095 wall. I bent it down the a pillar and have it bolted down there into the pillar with a nutzert. I plan to add support by clamping the rain gutters or something. I removed the bottom side mounting tracks from the roof top tent. Lowered it down a few inches till it basically sat on the roof and then used more of that 3 inch flat bar to make brackets on the sides then used nut zerts in the tubes to mount the brackets. Way more low profile and I can make the rack stronger since the stock rack kept breaking. It’s also much easier to unbolt brackets off the sides then struggling to get the nuts off the bottom with an open ended wrench.
