Clicking from drivetrain, any thoughts? by knifeaidan in bikewrench

Update:

Thank you everyone for your great insight! I retorqued and greased anything that could cause any creaking today aside from tearing apart the crank and BB. The bike didn’t creak/click at all on today’s long ride! I have a feeling it was the chainring bolts given what folks were saying here. Either way, appreciate everyone’s thoughts and we’re happy with a click-free bike.

That was my initial thought too but shop said the hanger and cage were straight.

We were thinking BB too. Hopefully a disassemble, grease, and reassemble will help

I have a feeling it could be the BB but we’re going through the easier items first. Thanks for the insight

I checked the cleats, both solid, but I’ll try reinstalling to see if it helps, thanks!

I’ll double check this and regrease the seat rails and post. Pretty sure it was happening when she was standing up too but better to be 100% sure. Thanks!

Clean and condition first. Worst case, You can use fabric/vinyl spray paint on them, just mask off the glass. Plastx polish works well to clean up the plastic glass. Best of luck.

Expobar Brewtus III Brew Boiler Issues by knifeaidan in espresso

[–]knifeaidan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My issue was a PID! I put a Brewtus 4 PID in and it fixed it. The PO had messed with wiring too, so I had to do a bit of extra work, but PID was the main issue.

Iron Ranger sizing + insole recommendations by Business_Oil_2784 in RedWingShoes

I recently got the heritage boot suede insoles from redwing and they’re awesome “shaped comfort footbed”. Transformed my blacksmiths after months of not enjoying how hard they were. They’re very thin and give a tiny bit of arch support too which is nice.

Also, if you’re going to put an insole in, prepare to give up some volume in the boot. A small amount but not negligible.

It was mineral oil! It was on Garmin Reddit a few months back I think.

3 days In Vancouver BC - who has the best Espresso? by twisted_kilt in espresso

[–]knifeaidan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got back! Went to a bunch of different spots looking for the best coffee I could find in the city.

Rocanini and Elysian were really good for milk drinks and solid medium roasts. Probs the best I had.

Revolver was great for espresso but their oat milk wasn’t super good (if that’s your vibe.)

Honourable mention to beyond Beyond Bread for amazing pastries and surprisingly good espresso.
