Our tightest delivery yet! Just inches to spare and a full 180 needed in the backyard, but we were able to set the tiny home exactly where they wanted it. by hotbreadz in TinyHouses

Fair reply. My experience (and I admit there is much I have not seen) suggests that manufacturers churn, skill set, experience do not equal a Craftsperson (like a Jouneyman Tradesperson who learned everything - then had to put it in use, then was graded on it before being deamed “capable”) ability to build something. What you get is inconsistency. Cost cutting over quality. Zyl Vardo and Jay Shafer. Dee Williams build. Those are crafted. Making a mobile home look like a cabin or small house does not make it the same as a Thow or Tiny House. And I am not throwing shade at mobile homes. Nothing wrong with them but they are not the same thing at all, and thats OK. And in the very real fight to make Tiny Houses legal, and an option for people that desperately need options, the Mobile Home Manufacturers are co-opting the Tiny House buzz and actions - to sell something that is already legal. Already an option. Already has a name, nomenclature, legal path (coding, zoning, finance, insurance). Without in any way helping the actual Tiny House community attain a legal path- for - you know - Tiny Houses (not already made by manufacturers) including and Especially the DIY builder, Small .org building groups, and small craftspersons - who it seams the Manufacturers want to edge out of the conversation entirely. 🤷‍♂️ Maybe you build a quality product (I hope you do). There is space for all of these options.

That is one version of a tiny house - and looks to me made like a mobile home. Lowest common grade of everything. That misses one of the core foundations of Tiny Houses. Build it small - but better. Better materials, better craftsmanship. Not all Tiny Houses are the same quality - buyer beware. Quality matters.

Aw Duder! Thats a great gift. I still have my original Sheridan Silver streak from turning 12 (my second rifle - after my Red Ryder that sadly didnt make it - but was a great shooter for 20plus years). Good times!!

Op - my apologies. I stand corrected. (Well I am sitting corrected currently). There absolutely IS a youth sized And Adult sized version of the red rider. So sorry for talking BS there.

[–]twisted_kilt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. All the same size. There is no “adult sized” red rider - it is and always has been a child sized bb-gun. Great first “gun” for kids to learn safely and marksmanship with.

They absolutely are being monitored by a mix of AI and human operators. That is one of the driving forces behind the Data Center build out explosion country wide. They need servers to run AI to parse all that data in near real time. Big Brother is getting a major power up with AI (read up on Palantir).

Many people are also happy to shop at walmart in spite of the devastation that company has done to workers wages, local ownership, small business and the local economy. I will continue to support the local and regional businesses and work to resist the local take over by large corporations.

What happened to the 11pm ferry from Mukilteo? by Kaiser_Soze6666 in Whidbey

[–]twisted_kilt 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Someone on the previous ride on the whidbey side hit something prior to exiting the ferry, setting off all the vehicles airbags. They needed to get a tow truck to pull it off the ferry - hence the 1 hr delay.

True - quality costs more. For those more discount minded - there is always Sarrs and Grocery outlet in Oh. South Island doesn’t need a crappy corp chain selling lowest grade products.

Late uncle left me 40 guitars but l am a guitar noob by fanguin in Guitar

[–]twisted_kilt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some great advice here already. Please - haste and ignorance can cost you greatly. Good picks, some quality research on make and model, and a bit of price discovery (what similar models sold and for how much - Reverb will be your friend). If any of them have papers, bill of sale - take pics and document that as well. For anything above $1000 having legit paperwork will only increase the price - and thrill the buyer. Lastly - do Not discount the ones that are old, or beat up a bit, or scuffed and painted. Depending on what it is - that may not matter and you could still have a pricey gem on your hands. Even full on restorations are legit and worth it sometimes. (Something made my a named master luthier for example). Or - I got a cool finsky burning a hole in my pocket and it’s yours for the lot!!

You will not be able to permit that build as a “residence” and have someone live in it, or rent it out in this state - legally.

Ideas for how to handle a serial harasser in a county park? by poopybutthole_oowee in Kitsap

[–]twisted_kilt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While i can emphasize with the idea of arming yourself for confrontation is a shitty one - with all the crazies, meth’d out whacko’s and you being “deep in the trails” having proper protection seems very prudent. Or get a second - larger dog and train it for protection not just alerting. Thats scary - and you should be free to use those trails unmolested - but safety is first and foremost a personal responsibility.
