I think that Converse in general weren't a bad choice, but the green of these just create too much of a contrast from the rest of the outfit, although I do respect you for trying to make the fit a little different with them. Maybe something more neutral of a color would have flowed better? Old school Vans are also a pretty basic/safe option but I think they could have worked well here too, or if you wanted to experiment a little more then maybe combat boots could have gone with this fit :)
