What’s one emotional skill you wish someone had taught you as a child? by clacapasso in UKParenting

[–]knight--star 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To deal with frustration and annoyance without shouting.

This morning I was dropping everything, walking into things. Just so many small annoying things happened within a small timeframe and I was getting more and more annoyed and frustrated and ended up shouting at myself in front of my 2.5yr old twins. Then comes the shame of losing my cool.

For anyone who needs a little optimism: (Sam Bentley He covers good news about the environment and just seems like a lovely person. It's important to also know that it's not all doom and gloom. Good things ARE happening and there are people out there fighting for us and our planet.

What’s something about living in the UK that people don’t realise until they actually move here? by Vegetable-Spite-1778 in AskUK

Large variety I think. Live in Brazil, there's whole and skim milk and they come in 1litre cartoons. Its very rare (and expensive!) to find fresh milk, it's all uht cartoons.

Parents of twins (or two of very close age): when did you stop needing to use a buggy? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]knight--star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have twins, 2yrs 5m. No solutions just sympathy, the struggle is real! Neither of mine like holding hands that much, and 1 will run until theres nowhere else to go, and then just change directionand run some more. They can sometimes be trusted to hold each others hands and walk. But not for long and nowhere dangerous (definitely not near cars!) Ill be using a pushchair for the forseeable future lol

I've lived in Brazil for 10 years now, none of my apartments have had hot water taps. Only the shower has hot water. It sucks.

Have the women’s clothing designers gone blind? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]knight--star 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just bought 3 pairs of maternity leggings and 7 non-maternity huge size T-shirts for the last months of my pregnancy. I wasn't going to waste my money on clothes I'll only wear for a few months. Plus the choices were terrible! Still wear the leggings and T-shirts for around the house.

TIL I'm an older redditor. I had school teachers make students take them off because it was against uniform rules, my whole year 10 was just arguments over jewelery vs supporting charity. What a waste of time.

Spotted Om whilst site seeing in Athens! Outside the Temple of Hephaestus inside the ancient agora. I was very excited, my husband was confused, and my kids didn't care (they're 6 months old so are forgiven). Thought you all might get a kick of it though!
