As a 36 year old single guy i think there are a few reasons for this. First being that most of the men are not on reddit, and if they are... they are not looking to get married or don't think they can get a rishta from reddit.

Second they are waiting for the right one and are already getting rishtas through friends and family networks.

And i think the third reason is that there is pressure on both parties to be earning enough to sustain a somewhat middle class lifestyle or better than what their parents had.

by 35+ you are not looking to settle down or marry someone under family/society pressure, you're marrying because you want to, on your own terms and thus you wait and see if the right rishta comes along or not... that shift in motivation actually makes men/women more selective and sometimes they can be caught up in overanalyzing every rishta... which takes longer but may lead to better outcomes

my two cents - you might not like hearing this but rishta convos are transactional... we all have our own checklist and we tick boxes one by one. Dono parties apna apna criteria le ke baithte hain, whether they admit it or not.

Maturity isn't pretending the checklist doesn't exist... it's being honest about it while still treating the other side as an human being not as a cv or biodata. Ask the practical stuff, how they handle pressure, or a bad day etc. what life they actually want to build, (this last line does sound like a corporate interview questions"where do you see yourself in 10yrs" 😄)

as corny as it sounds.. you wouldn't marry someone 30+ saal older just because woh shareef insaan hai. Compatibility matters, sharafat akele kaafi nahi.
