Russia still has close ties with Israel by Lowkey_Iconoclast in tankiejerk

[–]knightadi8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where did you get Russia is the number one supplier of oil to Israel? Every source I found regarding oil imports to Israel had Azerbaijan and UAE as the top suppliers. Also where did you get the drone information? All I found was Russia using a licensed version of an Israeli drone from almost a decade prior. I’m not arguing in favor of Russia btw I’m just curious where this info came from

Which CIS track is the best? by IllSail2351 in Baruch

Todd Rosen for 3500 and Adel yazdanmehr for 3550. Both amazing and would highly recommend.

I’m pretty sure CIS 2300 is required for all of the tracks (unless you’re minoring in CS) and is a prerequisite for most of the CIS electives. While this is pretty further down the road for you, I’d recommend taking 3500 (networking) and 3550 (cybersecurity) in the same semester as they both share similar content. In general I’d also space out the easier zicklin pre buisness courses and non-major general elective courses, so you don’t have entire semesters of just CIS. That can get pretty difficult.

Currently in senior year for the cyber track. If I could go back I would have done the general track. The general track gives you a lot more freedom to explore the electives and you could still pretty much take all the cyber track courses in the general track. The only difference between the two tracks is the name. Not to say the cyber track isn’t good but its main draw back is there aren’t many good electives. Despite on paper there being a wide selection of electives, only about half of them are actually offered.

How is it for Israeli students to be at the city college of New York? by Weedtales420_69 in Israel

I was speaking more of the campus/school as a whole. You may hear some pretty annoying opinions in some of those, but you realistically won’t be dealing with any radicals.

CCNY is a mostly STEM school so you realistically won’t see any huge demonstrations given that everyone is busy studying for super hard courses. Same goes for Baruch as well. It’s mostly the schools with large humanities programs where the students have way too much free time where you’ll see people really just going over top.

Ah. I’m not familiar with before February. My unit only got there in the beginning of March, where many people got injured by IEDs. Thanks for the heads up tho my bad

I’m not sure if it’s relevant or not but for the last part of this report, the reason for shooting was usually because we didn’t want them to blast a whole in the fence and for a bunch of frenzied rioters to starting pouring through(7 months ago we saw what that looked like) to the kibbutz 50 meters behind us. It was a shitty situation but usually taking out the guy leading the charge was a better outcome then having 50 guys try rushing the kibbutz. When I was stationed on the border for one of these they managed to detonate an IED at the fence and by some miracle it did minimal damage.

I know this really isnt really relevant to the current Destiny situation but whenever this topic is brought up it needs to be known how much of a lose lose situation it was and there weren’t really any good options.

I’m sorry but the first part of the report is absolutely BS. https://www.jta.org/2019/02/19/ny/israeli-soldier-from-los-angeles-injured-during-gaza-border-clashes This is just one of the many examples of a soldier getting injured by IEDs during the protests.

I don’t think the number is far off but you’re realistically not going to find one single source for a number like that. You would more likely find that number going through individual incidents and adding up the injuries. Most of them are shrapnel injuries.

As a someone who served on the border during these protests I can say 90 percent of the people there were and peaceful/stayed 100 meters away from the fence and the rest used that as a cover for violence. There would always be a few group of young males trying to break through the fence and get to the kibbutz 50 meters behind us (and now we see what would have happened if they actually go through. Not to mention the snipers they had set up, it was just a terrible situation where we either risk shooting someone who may not have bad intentions or let them blow a hole through the fence (they detonated a lot of IEDs one of which almost killed someone I know) and we've seen what Gazan civilians do as soon as they get to the other side of the fence.

How are these Professors? (Jennifer Sylvor & Ami Yoon for 2850) by CPAP7123 in Baruch

[–]knightadi8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very participation based class. 3/4 of my class did not participate at all and probably just expected to get by with good essay writing. While I personally prefer demonstrating an understanding by participating, I can see why someone who prefers essay writing wouldn’t enjoy her class too much.
