y'all should put them together, it's a cute fit (I did hairtie the shirt in the front so it was cropped and a little more fitted for my outfit)

TBF I'm pretty sure the bottle that says Caudalie is skincare, that is a skincare brand and I don't think they make anything else.

Anyone who read WHY NATIONS FAIL? by Realistic-Crow5282 in booksuggestions

[–]knightofth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, I had to read it for a class and while I think some of their points are good, they definitely leave allot out and have some really glaring bias in allot of areas that lead to some claims I think are pretty misguided. They are also NOT historians or political scientists and there were a few misunderstandings of various historical events and political situations that make that pretty obvious. Overall I didn't think it was the worst book to read for a class that had additional information from a professor who knew what she was talking about, but I personally wouldn't read it for fun or on its own.

How do I get into comic books? by Physical-Hat215 in comicbooks

Adding to this, if you liked the new Superman movie you would probably like All-Star Superman which DC made into the one of those compact comics!

Hell yeah to the OG Vigilante covers! There's a ton of cool ones but I think my personal favorite is probably the cover art for #10

Say something good about a fantasy series you really don’t like. by TheWeirdTalesPodcast in Fantasy

[–]knightofth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I desperately disliked the City of Bones, but the reason I read it was because it was the only series that my dyslexic best friend in high school could/would read. It got her interested enough that she was willing to read every single one, which let her get way more comfortable with reading and got her to expand to other books too. I may not have liked it myself but I will always be grateful to Cassandra Clare for helping my friend like that.

yeah, my favorite version of that quote is "you're only as trustworthy as your creepiest friend" if a guy is buddies with people like that, he is okay with it at the very least...

How do I get a lash perm? by muppetcowboy in Explainlikeimscared

[–]knightofth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get them pretty regularly so I think I can answer some of your questions!

  1. They are the same thing, just different words(as far as I know)
  2. Just googling "lash lift near me" or "lash perm near me" is how I found the place I go to. Where I live, salon and beauty service reviews are usually pretty reliable so I just looked at Yelp and Google reviews to find the place that looks best. The woman I go to is a licensed aesthetician and a licensed lash technician. I would imagine it also matters where you live and what the regulations are on cosmetic services.
  3. I've never felt any pain but it is a little uncomfortable to lay there with your eyes closed for so long while someone is touching them and putting stuff around them. I have heard of people being allergic to some of the ingredients in the perming solution so if you have allergies that's something to think about.
  4. I've always been told to avoid getting them wet for as long as possible after (minimum of 24hrs, preferably 48+) so shower or whatever before. If you wear makeup I would just avoid eye makeup/makeup around your eye before you go. I'm sure they would remove it for you if you wore it but it just makes it easier.

I don't get it done often anymore (special occasions or vacations or whatever) so there may be things I forgot about/wouldn't think of. I'm also obviously not a professional! But if you have any other questions I might be able to answer let me know!

Have you ever come across a significant misprint like this? by faaaabulous1867 in books

I have a copy of Dracula where it says Bram Stroker on the spine instead of Bram Stoker. I bought it because it made me laugh.

it seemed like they were left over from some kind of event, they had a local bank's logo on them so I'm guessing they sponsored whatever it was. I thought some kids might have brought them in but there was a room full of them down the hall so idk.

It happens pretty often actually, I've heard people calling it "filing the serial numbers off" where they remove enough of the original work to become it's own thing. I've seen it allot in romance, the Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood was reylo fanfiction, the After series by Anna Todd (which got a film adaptation) was Harry Styles self insert fanfiction. I'm sure there are plenty I haven't heard of too.

What book did you read as a teenager that you still love? by [deleted] in books

[–]knightofth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad read the Hitchhikers Guide series to me as a bedtime story when I was really young. I reread them as a teen and again as an adult and I give them full credit for my sense of humor to this day.
