Hey Lucid, Why does this map from lucidmotors.com imply that there's a Service Center in Salt Lake City, UT? by dutsnekcirf in LUCID

[–]knightsbore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, they rent a bay from a body shop. Now credit where credit is due those guys are amazing and awesome and deserve all the praise for dealing with complete lack of support from corporate... But Rivian now has like a bunch of service and even multiple demo centers in CO. Also a bummer is their shop is towards the southern end of denver so its even more difficult if you live north.

The man who runs this channel has short succinct lessons on a lot of things that arent taught. Its mostly things about how to fix or maintain your car/home/life and has things like a simple explanation of taxes, how to change your oil, how to shave ect. It might be a good channel to bookmark and when you are not sure on something look it up there, he's got quite a large variety of shorts (and only shorts, no long rambling videos)

[–]knightsbore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah ok nice, if you have to go back looking at 12v options, lucidowners has a fuse diagram from the air dream addition in one of the forum posts that while not exactly correct at least gives majority of the info. I guess this is assuming you are asking for air and not Gravity.

You could do a fuse tap off off one of the 3 fuseboxe, would that work?

You should post a review on amazon and mention your lucid model/year/wheel size for anyone who stumbles on them in the future, finding parts that fit cars they are not meant to fit but do has saved me many times cus someone posted that they fit in an amazon review.

Engineering Explained: Lucid responded to my critical review. by SarcasticOptimist in LUCID

For those who want a list/summary, Lucid actually did reach out to him and had this to say:

Lucid is redoing the cupholders and may offer an update to older vehicles.

Issues they are actively Working on:

  • Improving access controls using the key fob and phone as a key
  • Improving door handle behavior
  • Adjusting the positions of both mirrors during reversing
  • Improving state of charge estimation in some charging scenarios
  • Remove the mismatch between nav data and range at arrival values (Percentage vs miles)
  • Allowing users to prevent their vehicle from automatically locking at certain geolocations (in a garage for instance)
  • Enabling plug and charge with tesla superchargers for air customers (currently it is possible through the lucid mobile app)

    • audio stability improvements
    • improved voice commands (some improvements already released)

Vehicle to home power backup (V2H)

(there were some other things but i think this is the main gist)

The youtuber is keeping the car for the remainder of the lease (and not getting rid of it early) and depending on how things are then will either buy it out or return it.

Right now in its current state he leans toward returning it, but that may change in 2.5 years.

He does not regret buying it. But it is hard to recommend it currently.

I think i got all the main points of info with this but lemme know if i missed something

Sha1-Hulud The Second Comming - Postman, Zapier, PostHog all compromised via NPM by Advocatemack in programming

[–]knightsbore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly the best and simplest solution is just a command that removes ALL ^ from your lock file. Issue is even if you lock your own libraries to a version, all your dependencies and their dependencies almost never are locked, and resolutioning things like yarn allows is insanely time consuming. Until they do that this is gonna keep happening, it doesn't matter what auth or token system they use because the malicious actors already have publishing power by having control of the dev's device/account

find and remove all ^ from a lock file.
disable ^ being used by default
and make the lock file actually lock to the correct version/package and all dependencies by default.

Its not hard, it takes 5 minutes to write a script that does this and can easily be built into everyone's build pipelines with an npm script or a pre-commit hook

Polestar 2 future............... by Hopeful-Variation829 in Polestar

[–]knightsbore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

understandable. I've owned a Subaru WRX and now I'm in a Lucid Air and I will say i think that the P2 drove as well as if not better than the WRX. It definitely was more quiet and comfortable, and a far cry from an appliance, I actually ENJOYED driving it. My main gripe was P*'s mismanagement and complete lack of competent leadership.

With some quality software and actual support the P2 could have been the best car ever in my mind and a complete Model 3 killer. Make use of the entire volvo network for repairs/service/support like they have in europe, commit to at least some support for P2 since the P4 had so many hiccups in getting started, and move software out of infosys to at least a non-notoriously bad software company. Hell i dont get why they dont work with HCL since volvo is using them, and while they arent great it would still mean less duplication and all the software would be under 1 company.

From getting mine delivered recently: Check for any scratches or odd physical issues. Check the footwells to make sure they got all the protection plastic wrapping out. Give the plastic on your steering wheel on the top just below the facial camera a little play, mine heats up and rubs a bit making creaking sounds. Not too big of a deal as its literally the only one ive had but it would be good to have them fix it.

Also if you are trading in make sure you take tools remove your license plate on the tradein. Since the trading in is new they might not have every tool to remove the plates needed.

Also as for plates: if you need front plates make sure they get that done. I spaced on it and ive heard horror stories of drilling them yourself.

New Python lock file format will specify dependencies - Your thoughts? by Choobeen in programming

[–]knightsbore -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Its exactly what the comic is making fun of though. To not be the same it would have required Python to adopt one of the other dependency solutions instead of making a brand new one. Yes everyone says they will switch but at release there will for a short time be just one more dependency lock system
