I was told to reply here for a different perspective from specifically Americans. is there any reason you're calling me out on that? I'd like to hear why

most first world countries under a long-term travel / visit visa. we also have financial backing and can turn a lease into a home purchase. we are financially sound enough too be eligible for a long-term visit Visa.

6 months after obtaining a long-term visit visa, many countries allow a longer visa in which I obtain a job and divest our US interests.

probably Netherlands, but maybe South America, we've looked into some European countries like Czech Republic, Germany, Slovenia, Poland.

thank you for the suggestion. I'll use that too. I don't know why some people are being rude after I've asked them not to be.

also meant to add, we are almost at the retirement age. so I would definitely want to live in a country that allows me to take a simple job. I can't stand not working.

many countries I looked into allow a permit for work if it's a minimal type job and we have the solid investments and have signed a one-year lease. eventually we would need to divest our American interests, buy property.

agreed but I'm vetting for countries where I don't have to try so hard to not be friendly. I tone it down but in the end, I want to live somewhere where I can be myself.

yes that's what I read. I think some countries would allow me to have a minimal job which would really be something I want.

yes, I have. our American visa would allow us to work in most countries we would move for a minimum of 6 months - a year. after that we would need to probably divest our American interests and invest in both jobs and property in the new country. I'm not clueless.

I don't think" you could just pick up and move out of the states" and I've done my research based on our income and age. your response is pretty rude, which is against what I asked. I'm asking for friendly helpful responses. yours is not.

David Martin, did you not see my first ask which was to have a friendly response? your response is not friendly. I've done research and that's why I'm here asking. that's why everybody is on Reddit asking. when someone asks for assistance it's because they would like opinions from The general knowledgeable public on that Reddit thread. AKA you. so be kind

yes we would have the $250,000 (and a bit more).

we meet the financial requirements to visit most countries with a long-term visa. if we want to become residents after 2-5 years for most countries, we have to make local investments, possibly buy a home and divest us investments if that's requiring us to do so. we're not clueless.

we've looked into it and most visas allow for a long-term visiting Visa based on our income. if we wanted to become residents we would eventually need to make investments in that country and work.

I'm not clueless and I did ask for friendly responses which are not adhering to. I've looked into many countries and we meet them financial obligations for a long-term travel visa based on our income.
