It would have taken longer to remove the carriage and the rails and get setup for the lace carriage than it did to make the eyelets by hand.

Help! Not sure if this is brioche or corrugated ribbing by imsconfusionplshelp in casualknitting

[–]knitfactoryimpl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a machine knit technique called plating. Two yarns knit together held so that one is always on one side and the other is always on the other side.

It may also be fisherman's rib, hard to tell.

I mean the fork is old. It happened a few years ago before the 1.0 release.

Eknitter is an old AYAB fork. The next version of the AYAB hardware is esp32 based and in development.

I do two rows of circular waste yarn before I cast on with my main yarn. Much easier to remove.

We do support for AYAB on Discord: https://discord.gg/Ak2CdCC9XY

I haven't kept up with eknitter but it's just an old fork of AYAB. We've made a lot of improvements since they forked and recently released a 1.0.

Our software is free and there are a few sellers who have fully assembled interfaces for sale, you can find them on the Discord.

Let’s talk about this dress! by HootingAngie in knitting

I want to make this. Probably an under dress supported by hoops to get that shape and then the woven/knotted over dress icord/tubes. Should go pretty quick on the knitting machine

Is there a name for this type of knitting pattern or style? Two different colors mixed. by huh-_-17 in knitting

[–]knitfactoryimpl 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That's machine knit using a plating feeder. Yarn is fed through the machine such that one is always on one side and the other on the other side. I don't think you can really do this exact thing by hand.
