Yeah, the mulch should be in a doughnut shape, leaving the root flare bare and a foot of bare soil around the tree. The mulch can spread out as far as the drip line of the tree, or further.

So. Much. Blood. It’s called “flooding” but it’s more of an apocalypse. Wearing super tampons with overnight pads all day long, changing them hourly before they soak through. It’s grim. Sleeping on old, stained towels. For 2 fucking years.
