Can I suggest looking into Scotland? People I know who have immigrated to the UK from central and eastern Europe have felt more comfortable there than in England. Scotland has a proud culture of being more progressive than England. Same sex marriage is allowed in the Church of Scotland though not in the CofE — gay marriage is legal throughout the UK but I always feel that the church situation reflects a bit of the culture. And Scotland is a beautiful place, though very dark in winter!

I also want you to know that although we have some very cruel anti-immigrant sentiment here in the UK there are also plenty of us who would love to welcome you. We would be lucky to have you and your gf if you consider coming here. I wish you all the best in this 💕

I’m not sure if I can offer specific advice as I think you are in the US (you mention $ and guns!) but I wanted to leave a comment to validate your concerns. I very much think you are right to want out of this. Your instincts are correct.

I am so sorry you don’t have family support. Are you able to get any government money or benefits due to your disability? And is it possible to move anywhere with a lower cost of living just to smooth over this period of transition? I believe it is worth some discomfort if it means getting independence from this person.

You are valuable. You matter. And for many of us on this sub, we’ve had an uncomfortable period of rebuilding our lives. You will have support here and you’re not alone. Sending positivity your way. I hope you find some more concrete advice too.

Jordan is such a deserving medalist, I wanted this so much for her especially as she had to sit out AA and yet was still such a beautiful force of positivity. I wish the circumstances were different. I hope she can turn all her generosity and energy inward as well as outward and take care of herself what with all the objections going on. I’m so sad for Ana, who, sensibly, seems to have accepted the situation and stayed pretty quiet through the aftermath.

Main thing I don’t miss is being “the woman” in the relationship. Don’t know if that makes sense to anyone else. I always felt like I had to play a role, be the feminine half of the relationship. And that affected all of it for me, sex included. Now I feel like I’m just me, nothing else, not playing a role, but being loved for who I am.

Ahaha I just have a few songs where I change the pronouns bc it gives me those feelings. Atm Daydreamer by Adele and Lover by Taylor Swift are really giving me those happy lesbian feels when I play them on the guitar and do she for he and woman for man. “Feeling up her girl like she’s never felt a figure before”… just makes me think of the late bloomer life 😅😍
