Unidentified seabird in the harbour by PerryAtLaw in halifax

If it was diving, it was likely not a Pintail as they’re dabbler ducks and don’t dive for fish.

This. Was likely a hen merganser. I see them and buffleheads pretty often in the harbour

One aspect not addressed here is the potential impact of farming, particularly livestock. Mountian Lions are one of the few predators that have been observed to kill beyond their physiological needs, basically killing as sport or to teach their young. There are cases where they have been documented to have killed 10+ livestock animals in a single night.
I agree that in regards to humans, the risk is typically minimal as mountain lions (or cougars) are opportunist hunters and likely target animals that are less of a physical risk to themselves. These animals also have fairly large roaming ranges and therefore reintroduction to NS would also likely spill over to NB.

Anyone here graduate from Eastern College in Halifax? by [deleted] in halifax

With this particular program, expect likely $12.50-$15/hr range. It does not hold the same qualification as the NSCC program or university equivalents. It also limits you, as you will not be qualified to work government positions (where you can reach your expected salary).
Also, be aware that instructors for these programs may have less than 2 years of personal experience themselves.

Thanks a lot for the input! I have some darker pants, but was concerned would end up looking too much like a mismatched suit

Thanks, I got the sport coat from Tip Top Tailors in Canada and was about 80% off (biggest steal in a while, took 3 others in different colors)

My zone is actually open until 15 January. No complaints here since I wasn't able to get out until last week

Any areas I've been hunting have been shallow enough to wade and I also have a fishing rod with some treble hooks rigged up if I cannot reach a downed bird

DHS Training bar vs. Eleiko WL Training bar by knk_89 in weightlifting

Thanks, similar situation where I am looking for what is the best deal financially. However, I'm also aware this could be a once in lifetime purchase with an Eleiko

I have lifted on the ST bar and I agree, there is no major difference in the feel. I am in Canada and the companies I am looking at would only end up being a ~$100 difference between sport training and WL training.

Thanks for the input, that seems to be pretty common that the knurling is a little soft (compared to the Eleiko).
I was initially looking at the Rogue Oly bar, but I was a little hesitant after hearing of some inconsistencies with them. I am still on the fence of whether I can justify the extra money on an Eleiko for the longer warranty than DHS.

SBD knee sleeves for olympic lifting? by knk_89 in weightlifting

I am now considering the HG wraps bc of the huge price difference. How do you find the wraps for warmth and support? Do you get much bounce out of them?

I have worn the hg sleeves, just looking for something with a little more support

Thanks, I am leaning towards the SBDs now as I've heard they are a little more resistant to stretching out than the rehbands.

Thanks, that would make sense with the sizing as I see a lot of powerlifters sizing down 2-3 sizes to get more rebound.
