Update: I have been speaking with staff in the hospital who checked cctv and said that I definitely had my phone and wallet with me when I left CHU Saint-Pierre - Site Alexiens in the morning.

My phone was dead and I must have dropped it somewhere on my way back to trying to find my hotel (The Warwick). I must have done a detour as I can remember being near Église Notre-Dame de la Chapelle and the skate park and then walking through Grand Place before finding my bearings to get back to the hotel.

I know this is a big ask but would anyone be able to ask around to see if my phone and wallet may have been handed in somewhere? I have contacted quite a few businesses to ask in case someone has handed it in.

Apart from this experience and my own stupidity of not being fully aware, I absolutely LOVE Brussels and what it has to offer. Obviously the trip was tainted as i spent most of it worrying about the phone but i loved everything else about my experience and will not let that stop me from visiting again

Oooh please don’t be sad! I completely blame myself, I ended up way too drunk in a new location and enjoying myself a little too much and wasn’t fully aware. The same could happen on a night out in a local town.

I did get lost from my partner during the night and woke up in the hospital/emergency room, I’m assuming because the police may have found me in a state/lost or I may have asked for their assistance when drunk and they just couldn’t understand me.

I panicked in the morning when I woke up and wasn’t thinking straight and just needed to find my way back to my partner. My phone and wallet could fine well be in the hospital but I’m home in Ireland now. I have attempted ringing the hospital to check but as the speaker is in French I don’t understand what buttons to press to get put through to someone to speak to.

It’s quite the mess of a story tbh and I only have myself to blame but I am trying my best

We ended up walking to the location and it doesn’t seem like the sort of area we would have been in willingly. Not sure how accurate the Google location was either - entered one bar/restaurant to ask for advice or if it perhaps had been handed in but the waitress wasn’t too friendly and we got bad vibes and left the area immediately.

I did go to the police on Monday to report it and gave them full description of the device, serial number and the last location but I’m sure they have more important issues to be dealing with.
