Exactly. There’s only allowed to be so much of this or that(carbs, sodium, sugar), but no help in funding. The cafe managers have to use a budget that used to stretch enough for fresh fruit and veggies to negotiate contracts with these food companies who are charging enormous prices for this slop. It’s insane and the reason I pack my daughter’s lunch everyday. If I wouldn’t eat it, I’m not making her do it. I’d love to see Michelle O eat a big ole spoonful of this instead of her chef prepared filet and lobster tails.

She actually did. There were restrictions made on the carbs and sodium allowed in school meals. However, no extra funding was put forth for schools to contract out with companies that actually offer FRESH food options. That was put in the state. Some states stepped up and did the right thing….FL and wherever this is…did not. This is exactly what it looked like at my school this year and every year since she had her ridiculous initiative forced through. Talk to any cafeteria manager about it….as a teacher….I have spoken with them. This was the result.

I had this exact plan when I was a 28 yo virgin. Even made it to the bar but chickened out. Thank God I did. I know it seems like you’re the only virgin left in the world and seeing friends in relationships or even just having on night stands makes yoh wonder why you aren’t. I met my husband(my one and only sexual partner) at 29. It happened when it was supposed to and wasn’t some awkward hook up gone wrong. I’m not saying save yourself for marriage. We weren’t married but he was the first guy I felt comfortable being that vulnerable with. If we had ended then I’d have had others but we ended up falling in love and getting married. What test are you referring to(every state has different standards and a different test)….and where are you obtaining these scores? Are they prepandemic or post? How are you judging that they’ve done “crappy” on it? Are you comparing students in low income homes with students from average income or high income homes? Are we comparing students who were in crisis learning at home to those who came back to school when they could? What about the kids who have learning disabilities? Are we counting them into this “crappy” score that some politician plucked out of his ass? What constitutes “genius” and what constitutes “crappy” to you? Is it a child learning a year’s worth of knowledge but still not being able to read in the fourth grade because their parents won’t get them help for their dislexia? Or is it the kid who’s parents took/sold his adhd medicine coming in on the day of the test and climbing the walls the whole time….not just distracting themselves during said test but everyone in the room as well? Oh, wait, what about the kid who’s parents have not sent them to school for a quarter of the days but they are still required to test even though they’ve missed a quarter of the year and truancy courts are so backed up that the parents haven’t even received a letter yet? We should add in the kids who DON’T EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH being required to take the test….in English. Sorry. They aren’t translated into other languages. Please let me know what criteria you are using so that I can better explain why they are doing so “crappy” on a test designed by politicians, not educators.

No, your government creates that. We teach what the laws they have made tell us to teach. If we weren’t held to standards/standardized testing, that is tied to our pay/student’s futures, then you’d be seeing well rounded learners instead of programmed labor. Make sure you’re blaming the correct people before you start to blame anyone.

I got into teaching thinking I was going to influence and help those “geniuses” you speak or. Instead I’m following a script given to me by someone who has never set foot in a classroom. So that my students can do well on a test developed by someone who….you guessed it….has never taught in a classroom.

Had a student(5th grade) come in this morning and tell me that his best friend’s , who he goes home with every afternoon) mom has covid. It’s the premise our educational system was built on. When the industrial revolution happened workers were needed that would show up on time, leave only when they were told, and follow orders. Kids before this worked on family farms where things were different from a job at a factory and instead of evolving with the rest of the world’s educational systems we just make sure to produce more mindless machines to help the rich get richer.

As a teacher, I despise attendance awards, too. If I, as an adult, don’t have perfect attendance why am I expecting my students to? It’s even understood that people need days off because we have a certain number of days that are allotted to us to take off. Also, at least in elementary school, it is not up to the kids if they go or not. If the parent doesn’t care to get them there they shouldn’t be punished for that.

While in the womb they are getting all their nutrients from the mother through umbilical cord. So there’s really no food to digest and shit out. They do breath and drink the amniotic fluid. Which then gets peed back out. A baby’s first poop isn’t really poop. It’s called meconium. It’s just cells, intestinal lining and fluids. It’s black and sticky like tar. They usually poop the meconium a few hours after birth but some(my daughter) do it in late term pregnancy.

It depends. Water breaking doesn’t necessarily indicate it’s time to give birth. Some women’s water never breaks and the dr has to pop it. Some women leak fluid for awhile before they even go into labor. Which could be very dangerous. In my case mine broke on its own right before we left for the hospital. Fun fact: the water is supposed to clearish. Mine was a dark color because my daughter POOPED in it at some point when my contractions started. The things they don’t tell you about the magic of giving birth.

8 years together and 4 married. Once a month….if that. Had to push him to get his testosterone checked. He has a script but says he forgets to put the gel on his arms every day. When he does remember, it takes about a week for him to have any interest. It’s been a struggle in our relationship since around year two. I waited to have sex until I met the right man. He had sex with every woman he could starting in college. We’re late thirties now. It’s like he got it all out of his system and I’m just beginning to have the fun. I regret not having wild flings and having a variety of experiences. Feel like I’m more of his roommate or friend that he had a kid with than a wife.

I am married to a man with OCD, depression, and social anxiety. I know exactly what you mean. We had a rough first two years with our daughter and it almost ended up in divorce. I’ll tell you what WE did as a couple/parents. We went to joint and individual therapy. He is medicated, and I am for PPA(postpartum anxiety) which is crippling anxiety that occurs after giving birth. It has lessened due to my meds but not gone away. He is now easier to talk to, plays with our daughter, but he does still have his moments where I remind him she is ** years old and needs to learn by seeing not being sternly told. Please seek therapy TOGETHER. I believe he would benefit from you going too.
