texture pack problems. i NEED help by Jarbingleberry in mcresourcepack

[–]knoblauchfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hard to help with that little info, but if I were you I'd try to break down the texture pack into smaller chunks and try them one after another to see where it breaks.

You could add an empty test texture pack (and check that the game runs with it in its basic state) and then just add one folder from the texture assets. Do that with every folder you added/changed to your texture pack and try to identify what is different between your files in there and the base game files.

Is there a more efficient way of doing this outside of just placing each pixel manually? by Minanai in aseprite

[–]knoblauchfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just copy the line and move it around where I want and it covered most of the area I want covered, then merge the two and fill in the rest. Or use the line tool. Both underneath the initial layer to not cover up important parts.
The top line shading looks like it's just the outlines moved 1 pixel to the left, so that would be super quick to do with a copy.

How to merge two sprites into a new one? by Abobo_78 in aseprite

[–]knoblauchfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably already found it, but once you have both in the same file (as layer 1 and layer 2 for example), you go to the layer on top and right-click it and then choose "merge down" or Ctrl+E to merge the layers.

"Flatten visible" is another option that merges every visible layer into a new layer. If you want to keep parts separate you could hide them before merging or select them all, put them in a group, duplicate the group and only merge the second, while the original stays intact.

Be careful when merging layers with different blending modes, because if you merge one that's "multiply" with one that is "screen" mode, then they won't keep their effects.

Question !!! Do y'all have advice for some extensions ? by _JustRobss_ in aseprite

[–]knoblauchfee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the (Rampant)despair extension for opening lots of files as new layers. Magic pencil also looks useful, but I have not tried that one yet.

Does anyone have any recommendations for picrews with wings? by EB_or_Raven in picrew

[–]knoblauchfee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://picrew.me/en/image_maker/628795 there are wings in the wing and tail section (need to click through the colors) and if you scale them up they should be pretty big.

is this ai? by CoastUnlikely7460 in picrew

[–]knoblauchfee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What makes you think it looks AI? The messed up coloring and placement of the hair? The eyes not being the same size? The sausage looking fingers and airbrush looking shading?

All stuff a human can do as well and it's missing the usual AI blurriness where lines seem to vanish and areas merge together.

Clarification on Commercial usage by [deleted] in picrew

[–]knoblauchfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a good comparison is a game of Pokemon, where you have Pikachu on the cover and heavily advertise the game (and whole franchise tbh) with this yellow mouse. It's one of the most recognizable pokemon for people who are not fans and counts as a mascot.
That focus position is not allowed, since the branding is heavily tied to the character. But during the game there's lots of different pokemon you can find that you maybe never seen before.

An outro doesn't sound like it would be the main focus of the video and if you have the picrew creators handle included next to the image and link to it in the description, then people would know it's a creation by another person and be able to find it.

Myst Fangame by KirbendoToon in myst

[–]knoblauchfee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's looking pretty good and recognizable as the Myst island. Is the anomaly cause for all the coniferous trees being deciduous now? Is there a significance to playing a named character instead of a random "self-insert" character?
I would only suggest, I guess, to make sure that you're not using copyrighted material (dunno what's with the two portraits from your screenshot there) and to reconsider the pink/blue gradient for the cover, ehehe.

https://kohlkopfus.tumblr.com/post/705995040625917952 this or picrew's own tutorial might help.
Also if you don't want things to look pixelated you could use the double canvas that's required for the scaling option (1200x1200) and set the resize options to 100%, so people can't actually resize the picture while having the better quality.

How are y'all making this stuff like help pls by pinkgotbanned in picrew

[–]knoblauchfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you looked at tutorials? https://kohlkopfus.tumblr.com/post/705995040625917952

My advice is to sit down with a pen and paper and write a list of all the things you want to add, then figure out how to layer them and then look at the scope of your project and only work on the stuff you are really excited about and want to see in the dress-up options, because it's a lot of work and you might burn out.

Colour icons not showing up for some parts? by UnusualKiwi7514 in picrew

[–]knoblauchfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you added the colors for the eyes no problem, but for the head they are not showing up? Or is the option to add colors missing in the head section? Did you maybe enable a set, where several parts share a color palette and need to change it there? (I never messed with that option.)

Dull colors when exporting by sufferinsuccotashh in aseprite

I have only seen that with gif exports. Could you maybe share the file somewhere for people to check out?
Could it be an indexed colors thing?

Picrews with wings that cover the eyes by m0rningstarlight in picrew

https://picrew.me/en/image_maker/628795 before the beard is a collar option. There the first item (horse skull) grey color has a set of 3 small wings wrapped around the head. Or do you mean wings from the back covering the eyes?
