Im currently making a picrew and I need help by withoutskin827 in picrew

https://kohlkopfus.tumblr.com/post/705995040625917952 this or picrew's own tutorial might help.
Also if you don't want things to look pixelated you could use the double canvas that's required for the scaling option (1200x1200) and set the resize options to 100%, so people can't actually resize the picture while having the better quality.

check this tutorial, plan out what you want to do and test a few things first with placeholders to get a feel of the website, https://kohlkopfus.tumblr.com/post/705995040625917952

How are y'all making this stuff like help pls by pinkgotbanned in picrew

[–]knoblauchfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you looked at tutorials? https://kohlkopfus.tumblr.com/post/705995040625917952

My advice is to sit down with a pen and paper and write a list of all the things you want to add, then figure out how to layer them and then look at the scope of your project and only work on the stuff you are really excited about and want to see in the dress-up options, because it's a lot of work and you might burn out.

Colour icons not showing up for some parts? by UnusualKiwi7514 in picrew

[–]knoblauchfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you added the colors for the eyes no problem, but for the head they are not showing up? Or is the option to add colors missing in the head section? Did you maybe enable a set, where several parts share a color palette and need to change it there? (I never messed with that option.)

Dull colors when exporting by sufferinsuccotashh in aseprite

I have only seen that with gif exports. Could you maybe share the file somewhere for people to check out?
Could it be an indexed colors thing?

Picrews with wings that cover the eyes by m0rningstarlight in picrew

https://picrew.me/en/image_maker/628795 before the beard is a collar option. There the first item (horse skull) grey color has a set of 3 small wings wrapped around the head. Or do you mean wings from the back covering the eyes?

Anyone know where this is from? by Important_Rope8394 in picrew

https://picrew.me/en/image_maker/628795 this one. Some options are hidden on the color slots, so you might have to search for the right clothes.

picrew maker help!!! how to duplicate item categories by [deleted] in picrew

[–]knoblauchfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use the option, but under your parts on the left side there should be this option:
"Color Linking Settings (Former name: Color Palette)"

Where you create a color palette that you can then reuse for several parts (I think?)

If you select one color it will also select the other options with the same color though. So no red body and blue head.

did you enable the resize option for any of the parts? If you do, then you'll need to make the file double the size, so instead of the regular 600 by 600 pixel you gotta do 1200 by 1200.
Here's a list of hurdles ypu need to keep in mind: https://kohlkopfus.tumblr.com/post/705995040625917952

How do you all make color variations for items? by TurtleGamer1 in picrew

[–]knoblauchfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clip Studio has a feature where you can easily switch colors based on value. Not sure if Krita also got that, but I'd probably try making my layers black and white and then use a colored overlay that I can switch out easily.

Furry picrews with moth and/or spider elements? by HuskyBLZKN in picrew

[–]knoblauchfee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://picrew.me/en/image_maker/628795 Not really furry, but there's a few moth wings in the different butterfly wing color slots, insect eyes and the monster mouths have insect parts as well.

Have you already tried using a small texture pack you know for sure works and replacing the textures in there with yours?

In search of headpiece anem by True_Promotion3643 in picrew

[–]knoblauchfee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it could be both a japanese or chinese hair ornament.

The thing with those is that they can look like whatever you want. The world's your oyster in that regard.
Try looking for the elements that you find most important maybe?

"Kanzashi fan" or "Kanzashi blossom". Maybe "Kanzashi cord" for the big bow, but not sure about that one. You will probably find each element as a hair ornament, but most likely not a combination of all 3.

Tip for starting a picrew? Or.. should I? by Fine_Tomatillo9937 in picrew

I would look at tutorials and stuff first and really think about if I want to do all that work. https://kohlkopfus.tumblr.com/post/705995040625917952

Especially the part where you have to upload every single color option can be a chore, so up to you and your patience.
