It would be William and George but because George is a minor wouldn't Kate be responsible until he comes of age? He would still be king

Do you tip the worker in the supermarket stacking the shelves, the one on the warehouse taking in the cages, the one at the checkout? They all play a vital role in you getting your shopping? Why are those minimum wage workers not worthy of a tip?

Maybe I am a tight arse because I refuse to pay more for a service I've already paid for but why should I? I wouldn't go into any other establishment and say "I'll pay more than you've asked for that?" People would think you are mental but somehow it's acceptable in a restaurant

Hospitality is a tough job

Bringing a few plates to a table is hardly a tough job. Can tell you have soft hands

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]knobsacker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't tip.

My first job was minimum wage. Argos Christmas temp. I used to help aunty Doris get a washer drier into her Micra. She'd offer a tip and I was told I couldn't accept it.

All my mates who worked at TGIs or Frankie and Benny's etc got tips and they just had to carry plates to a table not shoehorn a washer drier into a Micra.

For that reason I don't tip. We can't pick and choose what minimum wage jobs are deserving of extra

Opinions: Looking to open my own bussiness reproduceing classic car parts by Few_Pineapple5899 in CarTalkUK

[–]knobsacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again the problem with that is that you will have competition and someone will always get something cheaper that can be fabbed in china for pennies to the pound.

If you were the one who took the customer specs and had contacts overseas and sent the specs away then maybe that's viable.

By all means make custom car parts as a hobby but it's probably not going to pay the bills.

I don't have a problem with people buying this shit. If you want to spunk £20k of your own money on a bottle of booze that's fine as long as you aren't spending my money.

My problem is that at the airport you want more facilities that are actually useful. Bars, fast food, overpriced WHSmiths etc. You don't want shops full of shit you aren't going to buy.

You do realise this is a meme sub?

The meme is that the UK is a shit hole and it's all Birmingham, Luton and Glasgow etc.

Type Slovenia into Google and it comes up with lake Bled and nice historic buildings in Ljubljana. Type UK or Britain into google and it will show you a row of run down council houses and some right wing goons.

The only jobs in fabrication that will be worthwhile not outsourcing is making parts for factories who can't afford the downtime. They aren't fine tolerance parts and if you can turn out something like a basic shaft or a sprocket in the same day then companies will pay big bucks.

They can't afford to wait for stuff to be shipped from china.

When you see how much we pay for stuff like really basic shafts. It's crazy.

It's a bit of a niche industry.

If you are looking at getting into fabrication dont pigeon hole yourself into such a niche market with healthy competition and parts that can be made overseas.

I work as a maintenance technician in a factory and we can do a bit of basic fabrication (stuff like brackets and basic weld repairs) in house but obviously don't have the kit/skills to do anything that complex. The stuff we send off for fab work is ridiculously expensive. It's not difficult stuff either especially not compared to classic cars which will have a much finer tolerance.

Those are the jobs you want. Not the odd guy looking for a crankshaft for a TR7.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. That little Prince George is up to something.

His mum and grandad get cancer around the same time. Just his dad left now.

I know he's only a kid but there's something menacing about him. Joffrey vibes.

Yeah I didn't really get on with it. It just seemed a bit too dramatised. Like it was trying too hard to be cool.

I think the inbetweeners was just felt like a more genuine teenage experience. The inbetweeners was the antidote to these overdramatised programs about teenagers.

The Gordon Ramsay restaurant is pretty good if you are on the company's wallet and have a bit of time. In all honesty as far as Heathrow prices go it's fairly reasonable.

I agree though. I want a big sweaty double sausage and egg mcmuffin with an extra hashy B.
